I LOVE UCLA's dance, but Oklahoma is already killing it. They got a 10 ALREADY. I'm a Bama fan but we're going to have to step it up quite a few notches, especially since they're going to a 4 team format instead of a 6 team format for Nationals. I HATE changes made for TV that provide fewer chances for athletes to participate.

On a fun note: "USA Gymnastics asks bankruptcy court to approve $88,000 in holiday bonuses”. https://www.ocregister.com/2019/01/0...liday-bonuses/

They filled for bankruptcy to slow down the investigation and asked for bonuses now. Of course they did. The funniest part is: Amy White is one of the employees designated for bonuses. USAG suddenly can into sarcasm and trolling or what?

I was lucky to be at NCAA's last year when they pulled it out with the final routine. Did you see their opening meet yet? I LOVE their dance; I can't stress that highly enough! It is Miss Val's last season as a coach though

USA Gymnastics has not paid U.S. men’s national team members this month: https://www.ocregister.com/2019/01/1...rs-this-month/
And the same organization of bureaucrats wants to pay their employees $88,000 in holiday bonuses, but athletes training for Tokyo 2020 haven’t received support stipend and coaches still have not been paid yet for recent Worlds.

USAG apparently is also unable to fund the rhythmic gymnastics national team - the girls have created a gofundme that states they have to fully or partially self fund ALL the competitions leading up to Pan Ams and worlds: https://www.gofundme.com/usa-rhythmic-group-fund?rcid

You would think this is The Onion? But, nope, this is real life news!

Amazes me how much I see CEOs, upper-management, government officials, etc., here in the US wanting to reap their bonuses, while people below them that are making much less go without! Where I work, I am not at the top, nor the bottom, but I would never ever think of accepting a bonus when there are people under me who aren't getting paid! People have NO shame!

Dear Lord. Does Hilton still sponsor some of the men's gymnasts? Chris Brooks' mother (who I was so lucky to randomly be sitting by at US Men's Olympic Trials, very sweet lady) told me being on the Hilton team helped her son a lot. The rhythmic, I have no words.

This DANCE, though. I could not see it on my TV this week, apparently If I hadn't gone to Bama UCLA may well be my favorite team.

Alexz is there a way to watch these? I get all the SEC meets and some of the ACC meets..but no Pac 10 meets (that is their conference correct?)

The Balance Beam situation always posts links to all the broadcasts available each week. E.g. here's last week: https://balancebeamsituation.com/201...e-and-links-2/

PAC 12 coverage will begin next week IIRC

Regarding US Center for Safe Sport and USAG: what is the current suspension level of John Geddert, formerly owner and chief coach at TwiStars? The Michigan gym where Nassar was positively enabled by Geddert to exclusively treat the gymnasts.
And against Geddert have been made several serious allegations of physical, psychological and emotional abuse. How is the investigation coming along?

I did see Madison Kocian put up a perfect 10 on bars popping up all over my insta feed

Is there any talk of her trying to do another Olympics?

She hasn't said anything, but I don't see it. She won't make the 4-person team, since that'll be AA gymnasts only and she's definitely not strong enough in the AA. As for the two individual spots: the nominative spot has to be earned by competing at World Cups (like Jade Carey) and Kocian obviously can't do that. The 2nd individual spot (the non-nominative one) would be Kocian's only option, but (at the moment) she doesn't have the difficulty to be an option. Could she built up that difficulty? I'm not sure. Bars is the event in NCAA that differs the most from elite, she'd have a lot of catching up to do. Also, bars is THE most competitive event in elite. And let's not forget that Kocian is kinda injury-prone, and elite training won't help with that.
