Thank you for making this fanfest RemyRose!

It was my first time seeing him skate, and I was super impressed. He doesn't have the best tech, but there's something I really enjoyed about his skating. :) Loved the way he skated to the music.

I'm excited to see what he'll do in his FP. I hope he does well enough to get a second JGP assignment, but it seems like he might not??

Well the men are unpredictable so lets just wait until after his FS and see what he scores and where he places. Anything is possible as far as assignments. My main concern right now is how his nerves will hold up considering where he is in the standings. He's never been in this position before.

As far as his skating, I think Kirill has good power, speed and flow. It's something I notice while watching his SP from last season, which I really liked. Nice skating skills but I expect this considering his training group. Also doesn't hurt that he has a proper edge on his flip and lutz ;) Plus he knows how to project to the audience/judges, he doesn't stare at the ice

I wish him good luck in the LP :cheer:

By the way, his and Selitskaya's interaction in the K&C was so cute :luv17: That moment when she shook his hand

This weekend was my first time watching Kiril and simply wow!

Nice speed and flow on ice, great commitment to both programs and airy jumps. This boy and his silver medal are proofs that quality is more important than quantity. I hope he will get 3A soon to become more competitive.

Now I wish RusFed will assign him to second JGP! He really deserves it!

It really hurts to think he would have won if not for the spin error (he got 0 points for it) or if he had tacked on a 2t to one non-combo pass (he only did 2 combos). Accomplish either one and it would have been gold :sad21:

But congrats, a medal on his first try and he held his nerve :yahoo:

ETA: I had to send a message to the ISU, they misspelled his last name on his videos, no wonder I couldn't find them :palmf:
ETA: It's been corrected!!!

Thank you for this fanfest! I just discovered him, never even heard of him before this competition and I was immediately taken with him. Such a beautiful skater despite his age, a true gem already. I am clearly doomed to be always attracted to the skaters who are not the strongest of the jumpers, and yet again this is the case :sad4: I really wish him lots of great things to come, he clearly has an innate, unique talent which deserve to be recognized far and wide.

No, I think he's a strong jumper he's just missing the 3 axel for whatever reason. He gets good GOE. I hope they are working on the 3a because he is turning into a beautiful skater under Buyanova/Selitskaya.

Of course, I didn't mean to say he is a weak jumper, but the sad thing is that if his arsenal is not at the level of Gogolev, he will be considered in general as "somewhat less of a skater", which I personally strongly disagree (yet it's the opinion of the majority, so what can I do :( ) I honestly love the quality of his jumps, what he is capable of he does them beautifully. I dare say I hope he won't sacrifice any of the rare quality of his beautiful skating just for the sake of increasing the intensity of jumps (and worse yet get hurt for it), although 3As at least will be an absolute must, in order to break into a bigger scene.

That's true but isn't every junior boy consider "less of a skater" compared to Gogolev? I disagree with that way of thinking a lot and the constant mentioning of Trusova in relation to the boys :palmf:

And I don't think he will sacrifice the quality of his skating with added difficulty  Danielian didn't suffer when he added the 3a last season and Kirill has the same team and they emphasize PCS so the non-jump elements will still be worked on and so will the other jumps. I have hope on that front. The consistency will decrease but that's normal.

By the way, I want to give props to Ivan Righini. He pleasantly surprised me as a choreographer and he did well with Kirill's programs

Oh, I didn't realize the choreography was done by Ivan! I am so happy to hear that, and I am not entirely surprized by his excellent work! :luv17: You know, quite honestly I was relieved to find out he was not the part of the product of the Empress T for a change. I hope he will get a solid guidance into the right direction through his jr. career under Buiyanova!

Who's Empress T? Eteri?

Buyanova has 2 good juniors (Iakovlev/Danielian) and a novice (Kutovoy). I really hope they receive solid guidance as well! She doesn't seem to be in a rush to teach them the harder jumps while they are going through puberty (to prevent serious injury) so that's a good start!

Yes, that's what I meant, Tutberidze. A friend of mine called her the queen of Tutberistan and I can't get over it :laugh2:
Oh I love Andrei Kutovoy, too. Cousin of Nugumanova, if I am not mistaken? I think the team's strategy is on a right track, health and longevity comes first!!

Yes, he is her cousin! He initially moved to Eteri but left after the Medvedeva drama to CSKA. I can't say I'm sad about him not being at Eteri's

Kirill is back in Ostrava, for JGP #2. Can I :rolleye:? Why here and not Yerevan where he can have a more realistic shot of the final with a 2nd place finish while potentially preventing Torgashev from making the JGPF? Russian fed can't plan for anything :palmf:

Could Kirill realistically podium in Ostrava?

Also I showed my friend a video of him and she now really likes him. :)
