He's there with Andrei Mozalev? (probably going to change?)

Podium threats: Pulkinen, Sumoto, maybe Phan or Maysuradze...

Well I hope Kirill gets switched to Yerevan, Gumennik to Ostrava and whoever is better between Danielian, Mozalev, or Kovalev (6th, ~190 pts) gets the last spot in Yerevan. Mozalev can stay in Ostrava, and Murashov moved to Ljubljana. It can give Russia a chance for 2 entries in the Finals (Gumennik/Iakovlev) possibly 3 (Danielian/Mozalev) but who knows what the Russian Fed wants

Looking at the roster for Yerevan (JPN, CAN, USA), he can realistically finish first or second depending on Russia's second entry.

Is Gumennik assignted there too? Or Danielian? With who will he compete the most for podium?

Well Sumoto and Pulkinen will probably be tough to get around considering their PCS/TES advantage. Phan is beatable (he just beat Phan) so is Maysuradze, Mozalev maybe. So I say 3rd is possible. But 3rd won't get him in the final, idt :(

He did really well and was so close to the podium :yahoo: Good job but he was robbed of a higher finish once again due to his coaches not constructing a FP with a 3rd jump combo :( In Kaunas I thought he had just forgotten but now I think it's constructed that way. Honestly, I'm so upset. He could have been in the final with a 1st and 3rd and I would have saw him live in Vancouver :sad21: Not meant to be........:drama:

I'm late to the game as I've only recently caught up with the JGP, but I'm a new fan of Kirill! He has a big presence on the ice and I like his programs this season. Hope he can get the harder jumps(in his own time, of course) and be a big contender in the future.

Yay, Kirill is in Ufa! So he will compete at the Russian-Chinese games! And OMG, he GREW!!! He's taller than Danielian now and almost Mozalev's height! No wonder he went MIA

Good luck Kirill! Do your best :hap10:

SP done! Kirill currently sits in last place (62.73 pts) as he only did a 2lz/3t. But he is only 6 points out of 3rd. I think he can make the podium if he skates clean!!!

Good luck in the FP Kirill!!! Do your best!

FP done! Kirill finished 4th. Good job on moving up. No clue what happened but looking at his score, he did not skate clean :( Nevertheless, he moved up so congrats!!! :agree:

Quote after FP:

Despite the last place in the results of the short program, showed a good performance in the free program. With a score of 187.23 points, he finished fourth, losing to bronze medalist Chen Yudong eight points

"I liked everything, there were small mistakes, but otherwise it worked out perfectly. Unfortunately, on the first day in the short instead of a triple jump, I made a double, and in the free program I did everything. It was interesting to compete with the Chinese athletes, I think that they are good rivals, so we just fight. I can't help but say about the preparation of the city for the competition: Everything went just fine and wonderful, "Kirill Iakovlev summed up.
