Wonderful read, I'm really wondering what they're going to do for next season. If it was normal, I'm sure they would have preferred to move up to senior. However, with the current restrictions, it's a really difficult decision to make. They seem to be keeping their options open, which is the correct choice since there's so much uncertainty about the scope of next season.

Some skaters are back on ice at Novi Ice Arena, per social media today (e.g., from Logan/Eva and Christina).
Yesterday Katarina posted on Instastory showing Jeffrey and her outdoors in masks -- the Novi arena can be seen behind them, if my eyes don't deceive me.
No telling whether Vadym and/or Avonley has returned to Novi ice yet.

RIP to a truly magical partnership. They had so much talent and potential together I wonder if we'll get to find out why it didn't work out.

And thank you, ice coverage, for reporting on them so faithfully all these years. I sincerely wished their thread would one day become hundreds of pages long, but alas... good luck to our beloved pair in the future!

"Truly magical" is the perfect description of Avonley and Vadym's partnership, which I will miss terribly.
I am sad for them and for their many fans like us that it has come to an end. :sad4:
My best wishes both to Avonley :ghug: and to Vadym :ghug:.

You're welcome. I had never seen an Avonley/Vadym program until their Demons FD at 2018 JGP Lithuania -- from not even two years ago. Ever since, I have not been able to stop watching their videos. Just yesterday I had given their Lithuania FD another of my zillion+ views.

It has been a tremendous pleasure to follow their career together, and they always will have a special place in my heart. :luv17: :luv17:

Thank you, Avonley and Vadym.

What? Did they split? Why?

Unfortunately, they have. We've been discussing it in the Splits & Partner Changes thread over in The Edge, starting here:

https://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?80140&p=2613056&viewfull=1#post2613056

As for why, neither of them said. I have my own theory, which I posted over there this morning. I would be very interested to know your thoughts on it, as I also applied it to other recent splits, including Anna and Radek. And since you undoubtedly know the Czech Republic far better than I do, you could let us know if this theory was plausible in their case.

Hope this helps

Yesterday Avonley and Vadym each posted on Instagram about the end of the partnership.
They each wrote a long message to accompany a (different) batch of on-ice and off-ice photos from their partnership.

We do not know anything more than what is in their posts.

I for one would much prefer that this fan thread be kept free of unsubstantiated theories and speculation about why they ended their partnership.
Especially here, they deserve that respect.

(The U.S. Ice Dance thread of course is another place where GS members are responding to the unexpected news.)

I didn't see that coming, I can tell that. Very surprising. According to Avonley's words it seems to me that was her iniciative, at least that's how I read this

I am looking forward to achieving my dreams in ice dance and will be searching for a new partner who shares my excitement, passion and commitment for skating.

But that's not so important now, after all. So let them both find new partners and continue with their success.

As for Anna/Radek, I've made a comment in their thread. I'll add that to the split thread.
