Go Petr! Congrats to him on skating clean and breaking 80 for the first time. Just less than a point off the podium!

IMO he suffered a bit from skating much earlier than most of the other big guns, especially the PCS. His fluidity, lightness, innate elegance and style has no match in the Junior field, perhaps with the exception of Camden Pulkinen. He did also have a slight hiccup on his 3A, I really hope he will go clean with his FS and gets on the podium.

He is a fighter for sure, we know that. My heart skipped a beat when he did that 3A but he saved it just fine [emoji23] and then the rest of the program perfect [emoji1362] it’ll be interesting to see how the free goes, I wish him all the best 🥺

It didn’t go as planned but he is such a fighter. 3Lz+3Lo as his last jumping pass?!? Don’t worry kid, you’ll be back [emoji1377]

https://youtu.be/or15kDPxQy8 JGP Chelyabinsk SP. In 2nd with 74.15. Agh, unlike him to muck up his lutz combo *♀️
Petya said in his post-SP interview that learning 4Lz may be messing up his triple which is unfortunate. Especially considering he has two 3Lz combos in the second half of the FS. He also said that in the best-case scenario they are planning to debut the 4Lz in the FS, but I hope they'll leave it to a less risky time and place.

Petya's last season's csаrdаs SP was so good and this one just does nothing for him. Тhe Fantom of the Opera FS - also, why? I understand they wanted a more grown-up program than but there are other ways to go. Let the guy dance and have fun in at least one program, he enjoys it and he is good at it.

Congratulations on the win and the first 4Lz attempt! Still not thrilled about the Phantom LP but he sold it better than at the test skates.

I don't think it's a bad program, just not a good vehicle for him? Good that he attempted another quad, though it seems like his preparation is a bit late than last year.

I agree about the program, it's not horrible in and of itself but he could do better. He has an individuality which is not well served by this season's programs. Considering the large growth spurt, I am not surprised it is taking him longer to get his ducks in a row this season. Hopefully once he gets used to his new body things will be back to his usual standard.

Petya's post-FS interview. He is planning to go Senior next season. As long as he gets a good enough SB/a JWorlds medal, why not, I suppose? He has only one more Junior eligible season after this anyway. I am curious what Challengers they are planning to attend. He is also planning a three-quad LP at some point, but I doubt it will be tomorrow.

As no one else seems to update Petr’s thread lol, here is his free skate from Egna. https://youtu.be/R3U5BLbWahg he won silver (although I think he should’ve won gold) and has his ticket to the final in the third qualifying position [emoji1376]

well... she probably can land more jumps than most of the seniors men in russia so i think he will have a place in seniors ... on the other hand one more year in juniors she could make practice the three 4 jumps in the long program without the pression of the seniors ... in this both option are good

On his possible move to the Sr. rank, I am a little torn about it. On his top form he is more than capable of going up against the big boys, but his consistency seems to be the issue still. Well, when it comes to consistency, Dima and Samarin are having even worse issues about it. Savosin still remains to be seen in the Sr. Plus what's with the health problem of Kolyada, I guess it will depend on how the current Sr. boys will fare this season.

Pete’s comments after short and free programs of junior nationals at sports.ru:

He’s ready to go to seniors and is generally happy with his performance despite an error in the free skate. He’s been dealing with some injuries that prevented him from adding more quads.

If Petr could get a little more speed to help him solve those URs he’d be pretty much the complete package, although to his credit, he’s already improved his flow a lot in the last two years. Love the musicality, charisma, extension, edge work, and emotional investment into his performances. He’s definitely got senior level artistic skills. Miss that triple axel-triple loop he had last year though, I guess with quads it’s not as valuable now, but it made him stand out because no one else does it.
