Sofya Tyutyunina and Alexander Shustitskiy (Софья Тютюнина / Александр Шустицкий) are ice dancers from Moscow, Russia. Tyutyunina was born in Moscow on Jun 13, 2003, while Shustitskiy was on born Dec 25, 2002. The skaters train under Ekaterina Rubleva and Ivan Shefer. The team of Sofya and Alexander are the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics silver medalists.

This highly promising and very interesting team won their 1st Russian Cup event in the 2018-19 season. The previous season they placed 14th at the Russian Junior Nationals, but won the bronze medal at the Youth Championships – Elder Age. At the Russian Cup Final they placed 4th. Because they did well in the 2017-18 season, they probably should have gotten at least one JGP event in 2028-19, but sadly they didn't get any. In any case, they were assigned to two JGP events in 2019-20, finishing third in one and second in the other. They qualified for the 2021-22 JPG Final by winning ISU JGP Cup of Austria 2021.

Despite the fact that they both are young skaters, this season is already their 9th season together.

They won the 4th stage of Russian Cup today and since they won silver from their first Cup event means that they have now qualified for the 2019 Russian Junior Championships. Great job! I am looking forward to see how they will progress from now on.

It is a bit disappointing that they haven't been assigned to any international event yet. Pretty much all known, and even some unknown, junior teams either have already skated at least one international event or have been assigned to skate one soon. Hopefully Tyutyunina / Shustitskiy will be assigned to Golden Spin. It will likely be the biggest junior event left where we don't have preliminary junior entries.

Finally some FD videos since FSrussia still haven't uploaded any.

Jr. Nationals. They were 5th which was a pretty good outcome for them. Surely they will make their JGP debut next season.

No, I believe they were 8th.

Kuts/Mikhailov were 5th, Andreeva/Desyatov 6th, and Ivanenko/Karpov 7th. Sofya and Alexander were 10th in the RD, 8th in the FD and 8th overall.

Why weren't they at the Russian Cup Final? Their scores in stage 2 and 4 should have qualified them, I would have thought?

Yeah, I expected them to compete there also. They did qualify but maybe they had to WD because of illness or something. Despite not skating at the Cup Final they should get JGP event(s) next season for sure but even so, I would like to see them winning medal at the at the Youth Championships in April. Hopefully they will compete there.

It will be very interesting to see if they will skate at the 2020 Youth Olympics. At the moment one would think that they would be the best eligible team but obviously a lot can happen before January 2020. Russia has two spots for every discipline. At the moment one would think that Khavronina / Chirizano would likely claim the other spot.

YAY! They got a medal!! Great job! This was a very important medal because now they have chance to get a 2nd event especially since they scored better than Katashinskaia / Vaskovich. It would also be very important for them to get a 2nd JGP event because that would increase their chances to get selected for the Youth Olympics which will be held before Russian Junior Nationals, so, Russian Fed has to take notice not only Russian Cup events but also JGP events.

Russia changed some of their JGP Poland assignments today but they didn't give a spot to T/S. There is still hope that T/S would replace Khavronina / Cirisano at the 7th event but sadly there is also a real possibility that they might not get 2nd event despite the fact that T/S scored a little better at their 1st event than Katashinskaia / Vaskovich who will get 2nd event (JGP Poland).
