Maiia Vladislovovna Kromykh (Russian: Майя Владиславовна Хромых), born on 25 May 2006, is a ladies single skater from Russia. She will be eligible to make her JGP debut next season on the 2019 JGP. She is currently coached by Eteri Tutberidze (and team) and her former coach is Anna Tsareva, both from the Khrustalnyi rink in Sambo 70 in Moscow. She has never competed internationally and as such does not have an ISU bio. I expect that to change next season! :)

Yeah :(
I guess I'm kind of assuming/hoping that she is added via coaches' council? does it seem likely?

I think if she can show she was injured and physically couldn’t compete at the earlier stages they would probably add her for Junior Nats, particularly as she podiumed here.

The only thing that might get in the way of that is that she competed at that minor competition a couple weeks ago (around the same time as Stage 4) so they might argue that she is ineligible for a bye as she was physically able to compete/qualify normally but chose not too...

Honestly I don’t understand why she didn’t go to Stage 4, it would have made everything much simpler and she was healthy/able to compete at the time. Still, she has Eteri on side so has a much better shot than most other girls would.

It is possible that she would be added to the entry list of the Junior Nationals but usually this requires previous merits which she lacks at the moment. Medaling at the 5th Cup event counts but the level of already qualified junior ladies is so high that I kind of doubt it counts enough. Unless Eteri thinks really highly of Maya's potential and really wants her name on the entry list.

Maybe they thought that she likely wouldn't qualify for the Junior Nationals anyway and that is why they chose Volkov Memorial over 4th Cup event. And then it was a bit unexpected that she did so well at the 5th event. In any case, even if she would miss the Junior Nationals she can still make the national team by skating at the Youth Championships.

Awesome fanfest, for one of the young girls that I see lots of potential in. Thanks, Spirals

Hope she'll overcome some of the technical difficulties, together with Eteri, because her skating has something...unique. She's graceful and elegant :luv17:

I'm hopeful that she'll be added to Junior Nationals. She was 2nd at Moscow Cup today, behind only Valieva and ahead of JGPF medalist Kanysheva. In just this short time with Eteri, she's upgraded her tech content from repeating 3Lo and 3T to repeat 3Lz and 3Lo

No thread for Maya or i can't find it ? :scratch2:

www.fskate.ru/skaters/4874.html

Born in May 25, 2006, she's a russian skater that was trained by Tsareva at Sambo (Crystal), and from the end of the last season has passed then to the team Tutberidze.

She hasn't participate on the first competitions of the season, and she has do only the fifth stage of the Cup of Russia, placing 2nd, after Shabotova. That has preventing her to be at the junior nationals :confused2:

She was anyway selected for the final of the cup, where she has won the junior competition, with 201.06 points.

Unusual height and physique for her age. Nice movements, she remind me of a ballet dancer :hap10:

There can’t be a thread for Maya until she is 13 (apparently they’re not allowing fanfests for kids under 13) so this may be deleted soon but Maya’s 13 in a few months anyway.

I had never heard of her before the cup final, but she is really good, I hope she gets a jgp spot despite not going to junior nationals, and I'm glad she has a fan fest

But yes, I agree, she’s like a ballet dancer. Very tall and slender but she’s learnt to control her lines beautifully since last season. I think she already has lovely interpretation and connection to the music for her young age and nice jumps. Can’t wait to see her internationally! She did very well these past two days, with 2 clean skates
