* Puts on my Mighty Mouse Great Spelling Guardian cape. * (It isn't the first time.)

Rika's name is spelled Kihira. It's an easy mistake to make, there were one or two more a few pages ago. The counter has already posted that she isn't going to warn people again, but a name misspelled will not be counted as correct. I hate to see anyone disappointed by this.

* Folds up red and blue cape, lays it back in the cupboard. *

Why? when it's obvious who is meant...:scratch2: Kind of you to flag the ones who got it wrong

many scorers score algorithmically and not manually due to the large number of players (including the one who is scoring this event). the algorithm isn't going to pick up misspelled names so they won't be counted. The scorer would have to go in and manually fix any mistakes, which would take forever and also shouldn't be their responsibility

ICE DANCE SMALL MEDALS WINNERS

There are 158 participants in the Ice Dance GPF Prediction Game. After the RD there are 18 winners, as many as 77 silver medals and only 5 bronze medalists. There's not a single person who predicted such a podium or results, which means there's nobody with either of the bonuses (I'd like to remind that there's a 30-point bonus for correct podium prediction and a 60-point bonus for correct predicting of all the results). As for the winners, they have all the results correct expect the placement of the Italians and Stepanova/Bukin (they have the Russians on the silver medal position and the Italians just outside the podium).

So here go the RD medals:

GOLD medal (140 points): Antyv, Baron Vladimir, cathlen, Fluture, FS101, Hyena, Koatterce, lavenderblossom, Lyssa, MalAssada, Marius, ntnext, ruga, s_parks, Step Sequence4, tosca, voolfee and Weathergal

I think I got 190 too,got first 4 places right and had Messing and Voronov switched. Seems like this round will be decisive, mistakes are costly, one place out and you're 50 points behind.

240 points :eeking: i dont think its fair to get so many points just for one set of predictions (for one discipline). Two reasons - it discredit the past grand prix predictions games and their winners who got even less points for predicting the best through all four skating disciplines. Also from statistical point of view it is much easier to predict correctly grand prix final than grand prix. There are only 6 contestant per category in GPF comparing to more of every GP. So, i dont see the reason why there are double points for GPF when it is statistically easier to predict it correct. I think 120 as max is more appropriate :peace:

I feel your pain (I got 3 through 6 exactly correct, but switched Shoma and Nathan. So 160 points for me, no bonuses :shame:)

But I knew the rules and I played the game. The Finals have always been “Go big or go home”. For that million dollars we’re playing for:laugh:

Same here, except I switched Messing and Brezina.

Of course you"re right. Please forgive me. You became victims of my iPad disaster when I had to write the names down again and I was halfway through the door. It was properly counted, It would have appeared correctly in the spreadsheets. Anyhow, thanks for alerting me and congrats to your well earned silver with 190 points. :cheer:

I've got a small silver in Ice Dance, yeah!!!!

Well, i'm leading the dance prediction for now, so im fine ;) i just think that all past predictions we've done in this GP round should be important too, especially cause were harder to predict

I can see your points. But, at the same time, the Grand Prix Final is supposed to be the most prestigious event of the Grand Prix Series, because it is the crème de la crème that competes at it. Only the best skaters get to compete in the Grand Prix Series, and only the best of the best come through to the Grand Prix Final. (Well, that's the theory, anyway!)

But, please don't blame me for this special points system. It was already in place when I inherited the GP Predictions Game from the previous organiser.

That said, I did keep it on as part of the GP Game because it was popular with the players. And I even incorporated it into my own Predictions Games, using it for both the Junior and Senior World Championships.

So, I hope you are happier with it being used for these competitions, since they have bigger fields.

Oh, i can only thank you for everything. I just thought the 'points awarding rule' could change  to better reflect results of constantly better predictors during the whole game.. if majority of posters agree with it of course... it was just a sugestion... edit: this gpf point system is fine if for example only top 10 predictors of gp season can fight for the final gold. Its not looking 'fair' if someone who 'failed' all past GP games can still 'win' in the end and vice versa :peace:
