At Golden Spin, israeli pair Kops/Tsoglin reach the short program TES. The italian pair Foresti/Caputo finally withdrew, so the 3rd italian spot will not be used.

There's no representation in Pairs at 4 Nations Championships, which may confirm the idea that the Hungarian couple is not competing anymore...

Yes probably, they were listed at a competition this fall (I don't remember which one) but finally didn't enter... So only 14 pairs, and as there is usually some withdrawals, it's not sure that we will have a 4th training group :disapp:

Aw, that's too bad for them. Hopefully they'll be back for Worlds.
I do hope that they choose P/K to sub in - they made the GPF and were 4th at Nationals and are solid seniors. They deserve this chance.

I'm wondering why it still has Zabiiako/Enbert when they WD a while ago. Pavliuchenko and Khodykin are definitely in, right?

Maybe the Russian Fed and the ISU are still communicating with homing pigeons?

Last year I had so many faves, and now none of them compete :( So I'll cheer for both young Russian pairs :cheer:

12 pairs only, but some quite good pairs still in the competition. This is going to be an exciting contest, no easy cleansweep medal rostrum for Russia here.

A dissappintgly small field, now down to 11 Pairs. Hopefully it will be a good quality competition at the business end. It should be an interesting battle for bronze between the Italians and the two young Russian teams. It all skate cleanly I think I’d give it to B/K. Hoping for T/M on the top of the podium.

Belarus had two nice Pairs for a few years but I guess both have retired now. I wonder would some of the second tier, but still very good, Russian teams consider country hopping? It would be good to see an Azeri, Armenian or Georgian Pairs team again.

I'm rooting for the Belarusian junior team (aka the one with the grey-haired guy) to break through in seniors

I would really love for B/K to win bronze here, but it is their first major intl competition, and the pressure might get to them. Ziegler/Kiefer in the top 5 would be nice too :)

T/M for gold to make things interesting, please  (but if J/C deliver another showstopping free, it will be hard to deny them)
