This year, we should see more or less the same number of entries than the last years, with 47 skaters already qualified. There’s always surprising to see that some senior skaters could still enter the Junior Worlds because of TES reached last year, for example Loena Hendrickx. Obviously she’ll not go to Zagreb, but maybe her teammate Charlotte Vandersarren will go, even if she didn’t skate junior this season. A full list with skaters with only one TES segment would be too long, so I’ve just selected the skaters who would directly qualify their country, in the case of reaching just one TES segment.

Skaters who meet the SP TES only : Amelia JACKSON (AUS), Frida BERGE (NOR), Leona ROGIC (SRB)
Skaters who meet the FP TES only : Eva IAKOVLEVA (KGZ)

Here’s the list of 2019 competitions where the skaters can earn their TES for Worlds. In brackets, the skaters concerned. In bold, the ones who obtained these TES.

- Skate Helena, Serbia (none)
- Reykjavik International Games, Iceland (Hong)
- Bavarian Open, Germany (La Porta, Van Zundert)
- Sofia Trophy, Bulgaria (Zhu)
- The Nordics, Sweden (Nordqvist, Helske)
- Dragon Trophy, Slovenia (Schild)

One more entry after the Reykjavik International Games : Jocelyn Hong from New Zealand!
The country has not been to Junior Worlds since the TES were implemented in 2012.

Is it common for a girl who participates in two senior grand prix events to compete in the junior world championships the same year ? :scratch2:

It’s not unheard of. Satoko Miyahara also did this in 2014. I’m sure there are other examples but I can’t think of them right now.
