Hey guys, I'm training for my adult moves in the field test and pulled my hamstring in a fall last Friday. It's not bruised but is still sore to sit and squat. I'm doing foam roller exercises on it (OUCH). How long should I be off the ice? I'm thinking an extra week. I don't want to go out too early, fall again and do serious damage.

(I have been falling A LOT lately. So frustrating.)

If that hamsting is pulled, you shouldn't be using a foam roller on it. You can massage the areas around it, but if what you're doing is causing pain, you should stop. Unfortunately, what you really need is rest. How long will depend on how bad the injury is and how much you can stay off it. You should avoid doing intensive exercise until the pain is gone and then ease back into the skating. Some light stretching might help, but stop before you reach pain.

Thanks all! I'll stop with the foam roller on it and do some stretching lightly. Then with plenty of rest watching US and Europeans all weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
