Since Konkina and Drozd have confirmed their partnership and they appear on the entry list for the Open Ice Mall Cup 2019, I've decided to open a thread for them so that all the news regarding this pair is placed here and not in Loboda/Drozd thread.

I couldn't find any information about their programs, so if any of you knows something, please let me know and I will update the OP.

BTW, do you know who are Konkina and Drozd inspired by? Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier. They admire them for their unique style (that's what Pavel said in the Russian interview the link to which you can find in the OP).

They are 3rd with 70.77 points after the RD at the Open Ice Mall Cup. (Leaders: Nazarova/Ninitin and Evdokimova/Bazin second).

That free dance was a very pleasant surprise for me. I really enjoyed it, they looked very comfortable together as if they had been partners for years. I didn’t think she was a good fit with Vakhnov (maybe because I was a huge fan of P/V) but her and Drodz look very good.

In their first competition to score over 70 in the RD and 100+ in the FD is a very good sign. All though it does look as if scores here were inflated a bit. It will be interesting to see how they perform next season in a fairly crowded Russian field. Best of luck to them.
