Nathan Chen's SP: Human by Rag 'n' Bone Man

Nathan's FP: Time by Hans Zimmer (Inception)

Big YES to these!!! Although I think I've heard Human a few times too often, so maybe something with a similar dark dramatic vibe would also be great, like Iron from Woodkid. I also think his EX to Back from the Edge by James Arthur is the best program he's ever done, so dramatic pop music is definitely suited very well for him. Some Hozier songs (like Nina cried power) would also work well.

I also would love to see some retro pop like Step Sequence4 suggested!

I'd like to see Shoma do something modern too, but I think it's pretty unlikely apart from EXs.

I hope Junhwan does something fun and unexpected again, his disco Romeo and Juliet is a big favourite for me. Maybe some kpop from him?

I don't even know what to say about Yuzuru, I feel like I'm not entitled to make a wish for him, because he's too powerful and I would be scared  He can do what he wants and I will love it anyway.

I’ve said it nearly every year but I think Yuzuru would be an amazing Edward Scissorhands and the music to that soundtrack is amazing!!

My biggest wish was for Jason Brown to do a Queen medley for his free, but Matteo Rizzo beat him to it!! 😢😢

Rika’s Debussy SP this year is good, but I’d like to see her skate to something that is a bit darker/would stretch her interpretation skills. Saint-Saëns’ “Aquarium” comes to mind. https://youtu.be/YVpl-RNzdE4

Not sure which team would pull it off the best, but I’d love to see a free dance to “Omar Sharif” from the musical The Band’s Visit. https://youtu.be/wCrmltUqjX4

There’s an amazing orchestral cover of “Heart Shaped Box” in the second season of Westworld, and I feel like it’d suit Sasha Trusova very well! https://youtu.be/Wbz2O8K2tFQ

I love this piece from the “Up” soundtrack, and i could see it working for Keegan Messing. https://youtu.be/2rn-vMbFglI

I want Sui/Han to take a season or two break from Lori.

Lori is doing a great job for them and they clearly inspire some of her best work, but she peaked with Blues for Klook and Bridge Over Troubled Water, so I think a year or two off would let her ideas simmer more, let S/H develop with another choreographer for a bit, and then they could get back together and produce programs even better than Blues for Klook and BOTW.

But Lori has done all of the choreo for Chinese pairs for over a decade so that's not going to happen. But I can dream!

I remembered after posting... I once ran across a version of the Game of Thrones music on Chinese traditional instruments. That's what I want for Boyang.

I would love a Free skate or a Free Dance to the soundtrack of the 80s Robin of Sherwood series by Clannad. We've seen and listened to Robin Hood programmes before of course, but this is pretty special with upbeat music (battles), romantic songs, dances in the woods, dances among the lords and ladies, unhappy pieces, mysterious music, well everything really. Take your pick. Here's some links to the music:

Could someone please skate to The Shape of Water? Looking at you, Piper and Paul, but I could also see it for Junhwan or Alena Kostornaia.

Every time I see a thread of this kind I'm reminded that no one has skated to Cloud Atlas OST and I'm mad. :disapp:
Listen to this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2U-lL_qdTI

Imagine a beautiful, complex choreography, imagine a beautiful skater with amazing SS and musicality, with the ability of interpreting and emoting and drawing people in. Imagine how this program would end with a standing ovation every time. This is the kind of music that, with the right skater, it would make people in the arena bawl their eyes out.

I'm waiting for the skating gods to make it happen.

I want either Kaori or Evgenia to skate to No One Else from Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. https://youtu.be/OL6GLr3k_Vo

Jason seems to be the only skater up on the new musicals, but I would faaaaar rather see some more new stuff than another 20 POTO or Les Mis programs.

Yu/Zhang worked with Benoit Richaud this season actually. Although, I think this new FS is maybe better than Bridge Over Troubled Water, so I'm not sure I agree that she peaked.

(yay for this thread existing!!)

Only going to suggest for ID because I feel like I'm not clued up enough to comment on anything else at this point.

I have to admit, I'm not a huge musical kind of person, so I don't have many RD suggestions, BUT:

- I'd like to see a Mamma Mia one (because who doesn't love Abba and Greek Islands?). My personal preference for this would be Carreira/Ponomarenko - social media indicates that she is a big fan of the films, and so I think they could have fun with it.
- I'd like to see Fear/Gibson do Sunshine on Leith.

As far as FD goes... I'll be honest, I'm a huge music fan but I have no musical ability and so I'm sure what could be used with specific rules or not but whatever:

- Christine and the Queens - not sure who (maybe Manta/Johnson idk) but I always think a CATQ FD would be great whenever I listen. (Maybe something with Saint Claude and something else, idk)
- Maggie Rogers - especially Fallingwater. No names come to mind, I just love it.
- Call Me By Your Name - ughhh someone please do this
- First Man OST - I particularly like Docking Waltz, The Landing, and Crater. Not sure for who, but I think it could be lovely.
- One that I didn't consider until US Nationals was Maestro from The Holiday (I think they played it during awards or something) but I think a younger team could do something really effective with this.

this is all I can think of (for now)

I actually really like this year's free, but I would like to see them try someone else for at least one program. I would be curious to see what Shae could cook up for them. Lori clearly is inspired by them, but a break is never a bad thing.

No no no more LaLaLand please! If she must skate to a film soundtrack, how about something less overused like the Goodbye Lenin soundtrack. Same composer as Amelie but less common in skating.

Yes pleasepleaseplease, I adore the Goodbye Lenin music...

-Phantom Thread - House of Woodcock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITCYt3Mp59I
A somewhat fun choice but I can already imagine her skating to it
-Le Tombeau de Couperin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wkt8T38aaMw

Satoko
-Devil's Trill Sonata https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7rxl5KsPjs
It's a somber one but I think Satoko can skate to it with justice.

Yelim
-The Skater's Waltz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zirn3M3ewQc
Something light and flowy. It will also push Yelim to project more and work on her movement.

Alena Kostornaya
- Daphnis et Chloe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHrstmOPKBQ
If the program was choreographed properly, we might just witness something grand

Zhenya
-Houseki no Kuni Opening Theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxxKm_O1xwo
It would be a cool EX for her
