I hope she will go! Since she was injured last season (something to do with the back) Im not sure if she will be ready this early in the season.
Btw. She is keeping her short from last season but has a new free

Oh, thanks for the info! I really hope she has recovered from her injury and we'll see her skating, if not so early, later on during the season.

Selma left her coach/club and seems unsure about her future in skating, or at least she wouldn't reveal any plans. She posted about it on Instagram because people kept asking and spreading rumors about it. She ended the post with (my translation): "The most important thing for me is being healthy and not having to be afraid of being yelled at or bullied by adults. It's important that we as skaters dare to speak up about our training environment and how we want to be treated."

Good on Selma for standing her ground at such a young age. I hope she can regain her joy and passion for skating.

Thank you SO much for your post Tingeling. I have been waiting for weeks on end for news on Selma ever since I saw that she was withdrawn from the JGP after having not competed for nearly a year. Selma has been one of the best skaters in the JGP over the least couple of years and she can easily finish in the top 10 at these events. This year would be her first year in senior and I believe she could have made the World Championships.

It is such a shame to hear of this situation and saddens me deeply to think of what she must have gone through.
I truly hope that Selma can see that she is one of the best up and coming skaters from her county with a real shot at making the Olympics and she will not give up on the sport. And that any potential sponsors for her to train abroad can see this as well. She deserves to skate under the best coaches in the sport. Maybe she could go to Germany, Italy, or even North America. I could see her at the Cricket Club in Toronto. And didn’t she do some training with an American coach recently? Hopefully Selma will find a new team and fight hard to come back for the second half of the season.

If possible could you come back to tell us if she answers any additional questions about her situation or provides any updates?

Of course. I had been wondering about Selma as well, thinking she might be injured again, but didn't foresee this situation. I really hope she stays in the sport.
