I just love the joy and excitement exuded by both Liubov and Charlie! They skate with such heart! Charlie is such a fine male pair skater-providing such a strong base for Luba to do her spectacular acrobatics! Their edges and positions are so fine! That triple twist continue to evolve and they need to continue solidifying those jumps. I will watch their LP again and again! I see them giving Moore-Towers and Marinaro a run for their money

I am crazy in love with this pair! That "Je Voudrais Voir Le Mer" is such a lyrical melody and will be perfect in Montreal! They both just project such joy when they skate! I predict big things for this pair in the coming years!

I love it! For some reason, the French music and the blue dress remind me of Fleur Delacour from Harry Potter

Sad about their 3rd place at Nationals. The scoring was fair. Something was amiss with those throws. Luba and Charlie bring something special to pairs and the international judges were just starting to notice. I would suggest Canada let 4CCs determine the second pair for Worlds. They are that good and could possibly help Canada bring 3 teams to Worlds the following year.

I think waiting for 4CC to decide the world team was the right call. Evelyn and Trennt had a solid performance and Lubov/Charlie made some uncharacteristic errors on the throws. It’ll be a good fight but I think Lubov and Charlie still have the edge overall.

Agreed! Getting 3 spots in Worlds is imperative next year in setting up for the Olympics. If Moore-Towers/Marinaro skate well and Lubov/Charlie make Worlds, that's possible. Not easy - but possible!

I now have the ability to download the fluffs and interviews on TSN.ca (although the original files are still only 540p), and these are the clips that feature Lubov & Charlie:

Tough 4C competition for Lubov and Charlie. I'm guessing that the Canadian federation will send Evelyn and Trennt to Worlds over them. Disappointing especially with that spectacular LP. I hope they consider keeping it for next year.

I sincerely hope the Canadian federation can find Lubov a new partner. This is a tumultuous time for everyone right now but it may give officials and coaches time to ponder the possibilities. Lubov worked so hard to attain her Canadian citizenship that I hope she stays there. Canadian Mervin Tran came to mind. I know he is currently paired with a US girl, Olivia Serafini, but he has US citizenship issues that might not get resolved. Mervin has his issues with jumps just like Lubov but it would be interesting to see how he would fare with her. Lubov is about the same size as his former partner, Marissa Castelli. I know that this is advocating a break-up but the citizenship issue is no longer an easy matter, especially in the US.

I hadn't checked Lubov's IG for a while, and I saw she'd done this interview in December telling more about her experience in the break-up with Charlie. It breaks my heart. But she did say again that she's not yet ready to close the door on her competitive career. What a positive and hopeful person she is! very admirable.

Here, she skates in February to "Hallelujah" and says she'd always wanted to skate to it. She holds her positions out so beautifully!

Thanks for the interview link Skylark. A very interesting read, like all the Russian skaters so well spoken and considered. I feel enraged all over again by the way Bilodeau treated her. I admire her for saying she regrets some of the things she said to him. It would be great to see her get to an Olympics.

Nice to hear of some happiness in her private life.
