Today Eric Radford from Canada was elected to the ISU Athletes Commission as the Single and Pair Skating representative.

Further to the decision of the 56th ISU Ordinary Congress 2016 in Dubrovnik (CRO) to introduce an ISU Athletes Commission, Radford was elected by the athletes competing at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2019 in Saitama (JPN).

Single and Pair Skating results:
Total number of votes: 50
Total number of blank votes: 0
Number of votes for Eric Radford (CAN): 27
Number of votes for Misha Ge (UZB): 23

[h=4]About the ISU Athletes Commission[/h]The ISU Athletes Commission members are elected by secret ballot. All accredited Skaters at the respective ISU World Championships shall be entitled to cast one vote. The candidate with the highest number of votes obtained is elected. In case of a tie, new ballots will be distributed to all Skaters for a second round of election. The candidate with the highest number of votes obtained in the second ballot is elected.

The above-mentioned athletes and Eric Radford are elected for the term lasting from the respective 2019 ISU World Championships to the respective 2023 ISU World Championships.

Congrats to Eric and agree that Misha too would have been a good addition. So awesome to see retired skaters working behind the scenes.

The Athletes Commission sounds as a good idea.

The number of skaters who voted is quite low, maybe suggesting this Commission still needs to find its own role/voice.

Let's see if they appoint Redford as Athlete Representative on the Technical Committee or if they opt for another choice.
