Remarkable No 1.. very modern!! Always believed only a man could play this piece because of the power and stamina it requires... very very gratified to know I was wrong!!
I have loved Gary Graffman's No. 1 for years, playing the CD til it wore thin and Graffman lost the use of his left hand not long after he recorded it. Van Cliburn's version makes me cringe.. guess it is all a matter of personal taste..
