I liked Seoyeon more than both Tarakanova and Yeonjeong, and felt that the judges lowballed her (but imagine if both her and Seoyoung had made the jgpf, we'd all be forming a prayer circle for Ted Barton)

I'd have kept Tarakanova's free skate above because Seoyeon's underrations were evident, but components should have been higher for the korean and that would have made the difference for the podium.

You mean Seoyeon. Yeonjeong had no URs

She wasn't robbed. Nastia was simply better both in the Short and the Free.

Ah, nice to see you here too after having finished your rant in the Russian Ladies Thread. Or have you?

As for the Korean girls: I‘m sorry I didn‘t count on little Yeonjeong. She delivered a pretty great program today! Seoyeon did, too even though she was visibly nervous. I expressed my thoughts already in the competition threads, so I‘m going to make it quick: I‘m having mixed feelings because i feel like Seoyeon would have deserved bronze based on her performances in SP and FS, however I‘m also happy for Tarakanova. So, overall, I think the Korean girls did extremely well for the second week in a row! Silver again! Now the question is how this will translate into the standings and who will get which second events. (Wonder if there‘ll be changes?)

Nastia didn't do a combo in the short. She was missing an entire required element. That counts, whether you like it or not. She came back strong in the free and should be commended for fighting for that bronze.

Seoyeon and Yeonjeong both did great here. I wish there were more than three medals to award! Seoyeon was certainly deserving of one today. Very happy for Yeonjeong's silver!

Excuse me, what kind of double standard is this?
I expressed my opinion in the russian thread about Nastia, and people wanted to respond and argue with me for some reason about me expressing my opinion :scratch2: well, that's fine!
Somehow, returning the exact comment in another direction is inappropriate  y'all are being funny ;)

I don't know what you were watching, but it sure wasn't the Tarakanova's short that the rest of the world saw

Seoyeon was absolutely lovely, to get back on topic, and it was clearly nerves that brought her just a bit undone. Experience will help, I hope. She certainly gets the nod for most exquisite costumes.

0.06 close for a korean silver and bronze. nevertheless, congratulations to our korean girls, and the medalists. all did amazing and it was lovely to see all the girls fight (especially tarakanova after her disappointing SP). definitely a learning experience for all!

City of Seoul is replacing the ice maker for the main rink of Mokdong before the end of this year. Mokdong is the host venue of 4CC.

KSU is expected to relocate Ranking competition to somewhere else, which happens during December.

ETD:

According to another rumor, the ice maker itself will be ready before the Ranking competition. I hope City of Seoul would fix other old facility problems, before 4CC 2020.

Okay y'all, this thread is not becoming like the Russian ladies' thread. Let us just be satisfied with two very nice JGP debuts for the young ladies, okay? :)

Just wanted to bring this in: Yeonjeong is the first skater to win a JGP medal and not belong in the main team (she's on the reserve team this season). Park Yeonjeong, 13 years and almost 8 months old, writing Korean figure skating history  :luv17:

Sorry for the double post, but after listening to poor Coach Hong's name getting butchered yesterday I decided to record some of the coaches' names too. I admit that most of their names are kinda hard to pronounce in English (and the romanization just does not help), but it'd be nice to at least let people know how their names are actually pronounced.

Coach Hong Yeseul (coaches Seoyeon and Younghyun among others): https://clyp.it/osr00wk4?token=f688d28792a2cd0a74c71ee6ea88c94c

Coach Choi Hyungkyung (coaches Haneul, Seoyoung, and Sihyeong among others): https://clyp.it/ygybgq2e?token=f7bdd1169a739d17dbd77e40fcbb5b92

Coach Chi Hyunjung (coaches Haein and Sunghoon among others): https://clyp.it/ffpjqzt1?token=ca4f5e43757125e43ec7abead7f9b011

Coach Shin Heasook (coaches Dabin and Junhyeong among others): https://clyp.it/xbyd30fl?token=b53acda2d61110c00bc98e7a925acf06

Coach Lee Eunhee (coaches Jihun and Choi Yujin among others): https://clyp.it/ef552yjr?token=37d48e3e24d9e740af17ae9d32e166e2

Coach Park Bitna (coaches Yeonjeong and other upcoming skaters): https://clyp.it/wjy4foxq?token=94d51fd3d110bee125bfbc229ca592ad

Coach Han Sungmi (coaches Siwon, Subeen, and Lee Hyunsoo among others): https://clyp.it/okk1miyy?token=086013ea09f1ef4076477c9ce9f82b6f

And for a bonus, the choreographer who choreographs like half of our ladies, Shin Yeji. https://clyp.it/qofifczc?token=a7b79e0d45964135282ba461b1a8b1ad

Does her being on the reserve team affect her chances of getting a 2nd JGP? It’ll be really unfortunate if she doesn’t get one, since with her silver at Lake Placid she has a realistic shot at the JGPF. But I doubt KSU will shuffle their assignments like the Russian Federation does.

I think she's supposed to get a 2nd one in Italy.

She has a spot at JGP Egna assigned to her, don't you worry. KSU assigns spots right after the qualifiers are over, and it was stated beforehand that 1st-5th place finishers would all get two spots. When Seoyeon was looking more likely to podium I was worried that KSU might not shuffle entries :p

Has anyone here heard of Soho Lee? She’s a new skater with RAF in California representing Korea. Still novice I think.
