Zagitova because of her programs and performances in the olympic season, especially her expressions in Black Swan. Her performances are more subtle than dramatic, but they feel sincere. And that she has both beautiful jumps and spins, when a lot of the time it's one or the other. She also has an amazing story and I love that she remains humble and herself despite all the successes. The personal stories from some of the children (and parents) who meet her are very touching.

But Shcherbakova is the only skater that makes me feel like I'm skating with her. Her musicality is so unique, she feels her programs like no one else. She's probably my favourite even though I don't think her jumps, spins, or skating skills are as good as her compatriots'. Which is strange because she's my favourite skater .

I agree with everything you said! 👍

Liashenko was my favorite since her presence so obviously pissed Dick Button off. I love her just for that.

My all-time favorite ladies skater is Alina Zagitova. It is amazing what she was able to achieve in her 17 years. Alina came to Moscow with her grandmother from Izhevsk at the age of 12, having only 2 triple jumps in her arsenal. But she progressed so rapidly that already at the age of 14 she was carrying out the most complicated programs in the world. And at the age of 15 she won the Olympics with stunning programs, performed with years of mature artistry. And a year later she won the Worlds, overcoming an unbearable year with a negative in media around her name in her own country, with pressure and injuries. This girl with an iron character. And importantly, Alina remained the same kind and sincere person. She has already gone down in history as one of the most successful ladies skaters in history and as the most successful ladies skater in the Russian history. But she doesn't stop there and it is worth a lot.

I can only say Ashley Wagner. It may be because I didn't even know who she was when I saw her at Skate America in 2013. And she drew me in with her ice presence. I could feel that she was a performer first. She reached out to the audience with her desire, her emotions and her expressiveness. Later, I grew to love her spirit, her courage and willingness to speak her truth.

Others who have especially touched my heart, in reverse order, are Rika Kihira, Evgenia Medvedeva, Sasha Cohen, Michelle Kwan, and Nicole Bobek.

I think it's interesting to compare the answers when the question is "Who is your favorite" vs. "Who is the best," because those answers can be quite different. When I think of my favorite anything - book, song, movie, etc., it's always something that I come back to over and over. So with skaters it's kind of the same thing. Whose programs moved me? Whose performances can I watch over and over and not get tired of them, even notice small details I may have missed the first few times? So using those criteria my faves would be, in no particular order:

Mao Asada
Evgenia Medvedeva
Yuna Kim
Kaori Sakamoto
Michelle Kwan
Sasha Cohen
