Ah okay, that makes sense actually. Vanessa is older so a full season might be to much compared to the low intensity of the TV show. I was worried they’d retired!

they are done and probably wont be coming back. Maybe they don't get along or have recurring injuries, you just don't skip GP like that your not even world champions or in post olympics yet.

Goodness, with those impressive predictive powers, can you give me next week's x-lotto numbers too?

She mentioned in an Instagram story that they were inspired to keep on until 2022 because France was awarded the Worlds following the Olympics. They want to have their last competitive skate in front of their home crowd. Having a recuperation season before coming back full force certainly increases their chances of doing that, I think.

Honestly, I suspect they were going to keep going until 2022 regardless, but a France World's is just as enticing a reason as any.

But my suspicious mind tells me something beyond their control must have forced a change in their original game plan which caused them to drop out of their GP assignments.

See what had happened was...

But seriously, it started when Morgan and Vanessa traveled to Canada for BOTB separately, with Morgan arriving to Toronto first. But then soon afterwards, Morgan left Canada and went back to France where he has been ever since. So since Morgan is no longer in Toronto (or wherever the BOTB training site is), he and Vanessa are unable to keep training on their GP programs as they had planned, therefore they had to drop out.

Now the bigger question is, what happened with Morgan coaching Vanessa and her partner Brian? Why did he leave Toronto? And why is he in France? And why is he learning to do an on-ice backflip?

Dear Watson, go fetch Sherlock Holmes because it looks like we have a real mystery on our hands, and are in need of the services of the illustrious super-sleuth!

I was going to comment to @Jammers: seriously dude do you really care? But @Hyena, you beat me to the punch, with a K/O! That was going to be my comment -- it looks like Vanessa and Morgan are following Sui and Han's lead. As Vanessa said, this is the first time in 9 consecutive seasons they have ever missed, and I think it's awesome they are missing their first GP season to earn some serious $$$ to do a TV show, and not due to injury!!

I'm totally hyped, psyched, shaking with excitement, and beaming with joy! Since they have committed to 2020 Europeans, I seriously hope they will continue to follow Sui and Han's lead and compete at 2020 World's in Montreal, and hopefully some of S/H luck will rub off on J/C and they will finally break their 9 year World Championship CURSE!!

I was sort of wondering when this would happen. I don't understand exactly what the agreement was with Battle of the Blades and I wasn't even sure if Cipres had a role in BOTB. I was wondering how they could do the GP if she was doing BOTB as well.

As for the 9 year curse for a world title I am not sure that is a fair assessment. they only were real world title threats last year. Medal threats yes but world title threats wasn't until last season. I appreciate they have a lot fans. That is great if they want to continue until 22. They have to do what is best for them. With them gone it leaves the door open for the Americans, Canadians, Koreans or a second Chinese or Russian team to slip on to the podium even with the current world bronze medallists apparently injured

Thanks for the updated list! I may recall wrong, but I could have sworn there was an updated GP entries list for SA which said that Bradie, Karen and Amber were the ones participating? So no TBD spot to fill there anymore.
Tatsuya is still in juniors, I don't think he could be an alternate for a senior event?
But all in all, very comprehensive.

Well now that first 2 CS Events are done here is an uptade version of Alternates list

Something remains unclear to me : is the Alternates List really updated after each CS? From what I understood, this list remains unchanged with 2018/2019 scores.
On the General Announcement, point 7.6 Replacements, it's written :

"The alternate list needs to be worked through in ranking order for the top 75 ranked Skaters/Couples according
to their Season’s Best. All Skaters/Couples of the alternate list will be grouped in top ranked groups of ten (10)
Skaters, out of which the respective Organizing ISU Member may pick one Skater/Couple for invitation.

Skaters/Couples, who place first in any of the ISU Challenger Series events for 2019/20 and can prove to have
skated the minimum Technical score as mentioned in paragraph 2.3, will be added to the alternate list, bottom
ranked according to their scores."

It's not clearly precised if the Top75 Season's Best list is updated, but the sentence about the skaters/couples who place first in any of the 2019/2020 CS tends to say these lists aren't updated, because the eventual skaters would be "bottom ranked"...

Have someone an idea?

After Ryom/Kim's assignment to Trophée de France, here is the updated alternates list :

Indeed, I forgot to remove the "eligible to GP USA" for Andrews and Hicks ;)
Tsuboi's case is a bit strange but except if he's finally sent to one of the 3 next JGPs, he won't have took part in JGP this season, as Japan only has one entry in 6 events, with a 2nd JGP locked for Kagiyama and Sato as they have high chances to qualify to the final. So technically, Tsuboi will be eligible to the GP series.

Cup of China host picks updated :
He ZHANG
Feiyao TANG / Yongchao YANG (it's their 2nd GP)
Yuzhu GUO / Pengkun ZHAO

Ladies is still TBA. Ashley Lin isn't eligible, Xiangning Li had hard times at Nationals... Maybe the 3rd spot will be given to another country? There's already 3 Japanese and 3 Russian, so Young You? Yelim Kim? Yi Christy Leung?

It's based on last season then? Sorry, I don't know how the system works, the only thing I know for sure is that Sota's new PB is 240 which is why I'm kind of surprised he's still so far back...

I repost what I've posted some days ago :

"Something remains unclear to me : is the Alternates List really updated after each CS?

Have someone an idea?"

But it wouldn't change anything in Yamamoto or You's case, because they already are in the top10 alternate list from last year. For each replacement the organizators have the choice between the 10 best ranked skaters.

And now the eligible pairs to replace Zabijako/Enbert at GP FRA:

01 (14) 189.53 Polina KOSTIUKOVICH / Dmitri YALIN (RUS)
02 (16) 187.95 Tae Ok RYOM / Ju Sik KIM (PRK) – GP CHN
03 (26) 166.95 Ekaterina ALEXANDROVSKAIA / Harley WINDSOR (AUS) – GP USA
04 (29) 164.10 Camille RUEST / Andrew WOLFE (CAN) – GP USA
05 (33) 159.54 Laiken LOCKLEY / Keenan PROCHNOW (USA)
06 (35) 157.28 Audrey LU / Misha MITROFANOV (USA) – GP RUS
07 (36) 157.12 Lina KUDRIAVTSEVA / Ilia SPIRIDONOV (RUS)
08 (37) 153.99 Lana PETRANOVIC / Antonio SOUZA-KORDEIRU (CRO)
09 (38) 153.70 Zoe JONES / Christopher BOYADJI (GBR)
10 (39) 151.21 Nica DIGERNESS / Danny NEUDECKER (USA)

And at GP USA:
01 (14) 189.53 Polina KOSTIUKOVICH / Dmitri YALIN (RUS)
02 (16) 187.95 Tae Ok RYOM / Ju Sik KIM (PRK) – GP CHN
03 (36) 157.12 Lina KUDRIAVTSEVA / Ilia SPIRIDONOV (RUS)
04 (37) 153.99 Lana PETRANOVIC / Antonio SOUZA-KORDEIRU (CRO)
05 (38) 153.70 Zoe JONES / Christopher BOYADJI (GBR)
06 (57) 121.44 Lori-Ann MATTE / Thierry FERLAND (CAN)

With Kostiukovich/Yalin maybe not competing due to injury, Ryom/Kim seem an obvious choice for Skate America... except if there's some visa issues.
