Tonight, Mr. Kurihara from Ajinomoto will be featured in TV program called "Sarameshi", I hope he will talk about a little bit about Yuzuru  And of course, we also have special TV program of Yuzuru on NHK :)

I'm sure they appreciate Yuzu's heart and generosity (well, we all know how Sendai loves him, and why not?)

https://twitter.com/tsubakindy/status/1245018851969884161?s=20 NHK Special edition of ALL Yuzu's NHK competitive performances. This was such a wonderful thing to watch. :luv17: You can watch Yuzu grow into the superb skater he is today since his NHK debut at 15.

I felt this is the sports programs that I have wanted, no additional rivalry, no cut and paste Yuzuru's interviews to manipulate his image.
Another great job by NHK :agree: Yuzuru was already special at the age of 15, the introduction of "first year student of Tohoku high school" sounded very refreshing

CBC, Asahi, and NHK recent interviews and programs for Hanyu have all been good. Even Fuji released longer MOI finale. All the TVs are are trying to fill a bit of the Hanyu void lately

On the other hand, Yuzuru Hanyu's portrait by US artist Peyton that was sold to a Swedish gallery for almost $500K will be exhibited in a Beijing gallery from June.

It occurred to me that with everything, fans of other skaters are experiencing what we do with the drought every year... but we still have it extra, as even the continent Yuzuru is in is unknown!!!

I did watch it - it was hard watching his mistakes (like so many others, he got nerves in his first Olympics!) but he never gave up, never stopped fighting to do the best he could with the rest, even though he must have known he'd given Patrick a clear opportunity.... it is in its way as totally Yuzu as his very best skates.

I have a question...where is Yuzuru now?

I have read that he and his mum returned to Japan after the TCC shutdown, but have yet to see any official or authoritative confirmation: he could have just retreated to the secret ninja cave (for goodness sake, at least fans of other skaters know approximately where their heroes are while they worry... we don't even know which continent to scan the news for!!! Maybe Brian will take pity...)

Dear Yuzu fans,

maybe anyone here can help me...

As the olympic channel reposted Sochi Olympics yesterday I re-watched it this morning...
I also looked up the protocols for some other reason and then I noticed that Yuzu’s 3Lz+1Lo+3Sal combo (which looks perfectly fine to me after many reviews) was declared as a 3Lz+1Lo+Sequence... without the 3Sal at all and with a Sequence base-value.

I am not a skater myself but even some people who do skate themselves couldn’t really explain it to me and don’t understand it. One said it’s onviously a technique mistake but also couldn’t say what exactly was wrong...
The Sal looks a bit slow but I don‘t see a wrong foot down or anything...
The jump-layout was also fine and vaild as far as I know.

Luckily that didn’t cost him the title back then...
I also wasn’t really into the scoring back then so I never noticed.

Is anyone here who can actually explain it?

In case you want to see the video: I uploaded the jump plus the questioned protocols in my Insta-story here:

I know it‘s super old but I really don‘t get it and many other long time skating Fans that I asked also don‘t understand. Maybe anyone here can remember the problem. I am quite sure it was discussed back then...

Thanks a lot already ❤️❤️❤️

I think the point of contention is that when he put his other foot down for the Sal, he lost balance and changed the edge of his blade before take off, putting his weight on the other foot. --But I may be wrong.
