Never bothered to use VPN, don't know why  You enjoy :luv17:

I'll try to post links to the finale and Yuzu's ex from non geoblocked places as soon as it's done.

Yuzu brought the beilman spin back and everything was wonderful. The 3A was just...even more perfect than usual.

"I chose the music to suit the place and this venue where the Olympics was held, so I skated while thinking of Peyongchang Olympics."
What kind of competition experience has this been for you?
"It's very profound, I've more emotions and informations than I can explain, I'm honestly not sure what are my true feelings. But I felt happiness while skating to Notte Stelata, I hope that everyone could touch the joy...for me the joy comes from the feeling of skating and being with everyone, I hope that every one could feel that in this program"

-My rough translation.

The not so bright idea of shooting paper streamers on the ground means no one can skate anymore. Yuzu has covered himself in colorful ribbons. https://twitter.com/notttestellata/status/1203699887847694339?s=20

@Farnaz, here is a non geoblocked fan cam of the EX https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=CfkfZumXbKU&feature=emb_logo

Thank you so much for posting!

Good gracious, he never ceases to meet and exceed his own adorableness. And that was really impressive how he was swerving around those bits of confetti. I bet he's great at figures. Also super-sweet how he helped get the streamer off Sui's skate.

Here's another angle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QKYZl95tIw

And I'm pretty sure he made a gold medal out of those yellow streamers. I wonder if he's going to give it to someone or keep it for himself.

The articles by Hochi look to have every word by Yuzuru before Gala.

Very short summary

・He honestly wanted to avoid 5 quads program if he could, he probably had done run-through only once in the practice. It was a great step he was able to do 4Lo and 4Lz, but he spent a night thinking if it was right for him not feeling transition, music, expression during his skate.

・He had not practiced 4A more than a month. Between SC and NHK, maybe once or twice. No practice after NHK. If the coach was with him this time, he would have stopped him since the competition was more important. But he thought winning was nearly impossible after SP, and the possibility for skating clean this FS layout would be less than 10%. This venue of Italy was very special for him, so he wanted to land 4Lz and 4A there. Every time he does 4A, he needs to be prepared because there is always the risk of getting injury.

・He is very aware of doing both 4A and his ideal skating at the same time is difficult, but he thinks he has to do it. His FS in this competition was like he only tried hard to land jumps and he felt as if it was a jumping contest. He is very thankful for people who supported him or say they were so moved by his performance. But when he looks his performance as a sport, he can't help but think it can be done in other than figure skating. If he is asked if there is need to stick to more transition, expression and skating with more care to get 5 points, concentrating on the jumps for getting +GOE as he did here might be more sensible (easier?) point wise. But he doesn't find the meaning of figure skating in himself if he does that. 4A is the king of the jump and he feels strongly that he wants to perfect it as a figure skater, not a jumper. But he knows very well it is going to be so difficult.

His ideal skating has not been changed a bit and I have much respect for him. But honestly I am a little sad reading it since I feel like his intention won't be rewarded in the competition. I sincerely hope he won't lose his motivation, but I don't blame him if he does. Remember Yuzuru, Health and Happiness

Sorry if I sounded gloomy, but of course, I will support and cheer for him no matter what :hap10:

Thank you so much for sharing the translation here @yude. I feel the same as you. I want Yuzu to have it ALL. And if he can stay healthy he CAN do all those things and be the ultimate version of himself. :drama: Just...stay healthy! As always, the only thing we can do is send our support to him.

I hope this little anecdote can cheer us up:
https://twitter.com/echotpe/status/1203872744451923968?s=20 From Alena Kostonaria
Yesterday Yuzuru allowed us to check out his toys and to pick some toys we liked. We were digging in those huge black bags. Dasha Pavlyuchenko almost lost her shoes. My legs were getting stuck in all those toys, I couldn’t get out of all those bears. That was very… very strange :) - Did you pick something? - Yes, we picked four napkin holders. Altogether, we snooped those bags very productively :)

For new-ish Yuzu fans, here's an interview with one of Yuzu's first coaches. She talks about what Yuzu was like when he just started to skate, following his older sister to the rink.

Post FS interview with Shuzo-san, this link has been subbed in English. Many thanks to the translators. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrWn66FkiMc

Can you believe it? If all goes well, we'll be seeing Yuzu again so soon!
https://twitter.com/UHB_PR/status/1203927492723036160?s=20 Here's the hype reel for Japan Nationals. I'm just so grateful that it seems as if Yuzu will make it to Nationals this year. We've missed him so much.

Here's a Yuzu version of the Nationals CM https://twitter.com/sut_bansen/status/1203885632457588736?s=20

I'm happy he's been healthy so far. But after Ghislain's unexpected passport situation, I don't think I can be rest assured until he gets into his starting position for the SP :drama: I wonder if he had to make the trip from Italy back to Toronto first before going to Japan. That must be tiring :(

My guess is that he's going back to Japan without stopping in Canada.
But yes, I'm not taking it for granted that we'll see him at nationals. But the hope and the indications seem strong that he will.

the Japanese Federation has never been on Yuzu's side (just look at his very underscored marks at Saitama and the PCS in both SP and FS at NHK), Japanese judges often give marks to foreign skaters even more generously than their own. And its not just a Yuzu thing..happens to the women too (poor Rika at Saitama as well).]

If they aren't on his side, who's side would they be on? Who could they possibly favor MORE than him?? :scratch2:There aren't any other male japanese skaters that has ever accomplished what he has done, nor the type of following.

Exactly. Not to mention that Yuzuru is the biggest cash cow that the ISU and the JSF has! What would either organization possibly have to gain by not being on "his side?"

I understand fandom, but these conspiracy theories are ridiculous.

(Apologies, I just realized this was the fan thread. Just responding to a post here.)

I think it depends on each of us to call the whole situation as "conspiracy theories" or not, but Japanese judges have done that many times and sometimes I cringe. But yes, they may simply think Japanese skaters are inferior to the skaters from other countries.
