^ Is that the skating order for Sena and Mitsuki?
And poor WD Tatsuya, it seems his foot (sprain?) wasn't ready for competition yet :/

What I'm hoping is that the JSF give these boys room to breathe and time to develop; it's a worry reading the Russian men's threads with all the pressure that was on those following Plushenko and Yagudin, two amazing champions, to equal their achievements and the storm of criticism the young newcomers got and still get whenever the pressure is too much. Now these young Japanese men are following the extremely popular Takahashi/Machida/Nobu group and shadowing all time legend/national idol Yuzuru and OSM/amazing and uniquely appealing in his own right Shoma. Talk about intimidating acts to follow...

I'm just hoping they get the time and are allowed to grow without being required by the JSF and the public to be the third coming, and that today if not sooner, before they are ready.

They also have lovely, engaging personalities and the looks and/or appeal to draw crowds (shallow? me? yes) which can only help in keeping the sport popular.

Meanwhile at the Gensan Summer Cup Senior Men SP today:
1 Kazuki Tomono 73.33 4T(so) 4S3T 3A(fall)
2 Sota Yamamoto 67.50 4S(hand down) 2T2T 3A
3 Taichiro Yamakuma 64.79
4 Yuto Kishina 64.08
5 Kosuke Nakano 57.20

I'm really proud of both Sota and Kazuki. They're both going for a 2-quad SP, and they both landed a new type of quad today!

Sota landed the 4S for the first time, in addition to landing a clean 3A. Shame about the popped combo (should have been 4T3T), but great effort!

Kazuki landed not one, but TWO pieces of new tech today. The 4T, a jump he's been trying to master since 2015! And the 4S3T combo is also new (he's only done 4S2T so far). The most amazing thing is that his planned combo was actually 4T3T (ambitious, since he'd never landed a 4T yet, let alone a 4T combo). But, because of the step out on the 4T, he improvised the 4S3T and it worked! :yahoo:

Good luck to both boys in the free tomorrow!

Thank you everyone for all the updates :) I wish every skater health and great season!

One thing I've been worried about is what kind of impact SNS has on younger skaters. Some days ago, I happened to read Kao Miura said on his twitter that he was hurt by reading some people's comments about him. I hope he and other skaters will be able to make good use of SNS for their coming future

The videos are already gone, even those of the juniors. I hate youtube  I really want to see the programs.
Congrats to the competitors!
Mitsuki scored one point higher than Sota, now that's a surprise, I totally didn't expect that :) But good for Mitsuki!

Congratulations to Tomono for winning (and getting the prize of beef for the 2nd consecutive year ;))
It is actually the 3rd consecutive year he wins this competition (and the beef) as a senior, and IIRC he won it as a junior, too

I am so, so proud of both Kazuki and Sota. They went full out, with upgraded layouts and they both landed new big elements for the first in time competition

I love both of them. They are so different in style and personality, and the challenges they faced so far were very different, but they are both incredibly talented, hardworking and brave! They also have the cutest friendship! Hopefully this season their friendly rivalry will continue to flourish and we'll see both of them become better and better as skaters :luv17:

PS- I was also very disappointed the videos were taken down so soon! I didn't get to watch it... :(
