Personal info, preferences, role models etc.:

Who took me to the ice and how my beginnings were like?
Filip: It was my mum and her friend, who was go in for figure skating. I started figure skating at the age of 5 in singles at first. At 12 my heart lead me to the ice dance, at the same time I was a captain of synchronized skating team Darlings. We took part world junior championship three times (my sister also skated in that team). I decided to join forces with my sister at 14.
Natálie: My mother and aunt took me to the ice. I started at 2. I became better through time and started in singles.

My best moment on the ice?
Filip: Every minute I can spent on the ice is the best one.
Natálie: When I'm making a bow after the program.

What success I'm proud the most?
Filip: I'm proud of every competition.
Natálie: 4th place at Obersdorf.

What stadiums I liked the most till now, which city, place on Earth interrested me from figure skating perspective?
Filip: Canada, Toronto.
Natálie: I liked Canada the most.

Apart from figure skating I go in for...
Filip: Work out, swimming, travelling, listening of music.
Natálie: I'm still doing synchronized skating with team Darlings.

Most favorite element on the ice?
Filip: Step sequences, I like deep edges.
Natálie: My favourite is spin, I like it from childhood.

My favourite person in sport?
Filip: Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. Another role models esp. in sibligs relationship are Maia and Alex Shibutani and of course Eva Romanová and Pavel Roman.
Natálie: Roman siblings.

Thanks for starting this thread for them! It is great to see a team from other than the usual countries win a medal in dance! I wish them more success.

A poster on FSU reported that the Taschlers' father died about a month ago, so obviously this was a tough time for them. Congratulations to them on their success here, all the more remarkable considering they had previously never even made the top ten of any of their JGP assignments.

Thank you for creating this thread!
Just a little correction: Natálie and Filip represent VSK Technika Brno but train at Chicago Ice Dance Center (they have been there since June - their previous coach went on maternity leave).

I thought I'll add more content later (results from more competitions, music from previous years), but I see it's not necessary

Likely not as I don’t think they’ll be able to secure a silver, but maybe an alternate

Whether they make it or not, tgey improved a lot. I must confess I loved their fs ending, it was so emotional! What a good team Czech rep. has when Mansour/Ceska retired.

Yes, we are desperately waiting for a good ice dance team (which, unfortunately can be said about the most of cathegories), I hope we found it. And yes, they probably won't make it to the final, but even being close (or in reserve for the final) is a huge deal. The only thing that makes me sad is that I haven't seen any sport news (not even Czech TV, who in sport news presents itself as covering even the less watched sports) that would mention this success.

I would stay positive about the future of CZE in figure skating! As far as I am acknowledged, you have Brezina, Brezinova (are they related?) now Taschler guys and perhaps (lord have mercy) Bidar and Liza... That sounds promising!

Yes, Březina and Březinová are siblings and also coming from Brno. Michal Březina fortunately decided to continue skating (he has nearly decided to end his career after the 2018/2019 season - need to say that some people were seeing him as a medal contender in European Championship and when he didn't fulfill the expectations, there were some really bad comments about him - people are nuts). Eliška Březinová will probably also continue at least for one more season, sad thing is that she started rising her performances too late IMO. She managed to get into the best european 10, I would like to see her among the first 6, but that's probably unreachable, 10 is her limit now. Bidař - we will see how it will going with his new partner (if we will see him with Liza). Also, we potentially have Anna Dušková with Radek Jakubka, but Anna is injured repeatedly so I don't know if she will manage to get into the competitive form.

Oh no, I didnt know Michal wanted to retire. I hope he does even better this season so the results will keep him motivated to work even further. Now that the throne of Europe is vacant, he could strive to usurp it. But thats off topic, that belongs to CZE thread. Do you guys have any?

You could start a Czech Team thread in the Teams and coaches section of fan fests. They have a chance of being one of the top ten teams now!
