Yaroslav Paniot is switching to USA?!?

He's listed for the Southwestern Pacific Regionals this weekend...

Don't think so. The competition is available to non-USA skaters:
Non-U.S. skaters intending to register for this competition must set up a non-member account prior to registering for the competition
and that's all (OK, they must pay the entry fee ;)).

Kevin Aymoz is quite adorable, and I was quite impressed this weekend, by the way he kept battling when he was clearly nervous as hell - he salvaged a very decent score, and a great placement, despite early errors in both programmes. I certainly think he can compete with the Russian men, who aren't exactly hyper-reliable.

I'm still hoping Rizzo will get himself back together in time for Europeans - he's been a bit off-kilter so far.

As for Vasiljevs, I often get the feeling he just isn't that competitive - he loves to skate, loves to perform, is charming, and gorgeous to watch, and it just seems that competing is something he has to do in order to get the recognition to do that at the top level. But he never seems that fussed about his pops and technical errors, if he feels the performance was good. It's different from Lambiel, who was also a real performer, but was clearly extremely competitive too.

Kevin Aymoz has been strong in this season, hoping that will continue at Europeans and especially at Worlds.

Swedish nationals:

Senior men short:
Nikolaj, step out on 3 axel and ! on 3 flip, 74,96
Illya Solomon clean, 65,29
Nathan Tzagai clean, 56,23

Free skate:
Nikolaj no 3A and missed a combination. 3Lz/3T, level 4 spins and the rest was fine.
Illya also had a nice 3Lz/3T, but two falls.

I think all three medalists skated their best so far this season

Nikolaj Majorov 215,46
Illya Solomin 169,96
Natran Tzagai 159,14

Nikolaj will probably go to Europeans with Illya as a substitute.

I thought Sweden had 2 entries since Alexander Majorov made top 10.

Does Ilia have the tec requirements for Euros?

Yes he does. How cool. I was so sure Alexander was in 11th place at last Euros, as he often was

I'm a bit sad for Romain Ponsart, he said earlier this season that his goal was to go to Europeans. But it's not really a surprise he wasn't selected.

I'm a bit sad for him also as apparently he's had visa problems and hasn't been able to train in L.A. this season. But I'm thrilled for Adam! Especially after the injury this summer, having to miss out on his homefield JGP, & clearly just not able to get back to 100% before the JGP events he was able to attend. The men's event at Europeans is quite unpredictable, but it does seem like Kevin & Adam could plausibly earn France three berths for next year.

Sondre bringing back Muse. Probably some changes from his 2017 free skate? Is Europeans his next competition?

Norwegian nationals are next week, so he will off course be going there. And after that it is Euros. I´m very excited about Sondre going back to Muse, that is one of my absolute fav programs by him all though I also like the new program. I would really love him to smash that program, I don´t feel he has brought out the full potensial of it. The only negative thing is that people may have gotten tired of that piece of music now

Hm.. he didn´t just post it as a story? Maybe there was some music rights-problem with Instagram, so he did have to delete the video. He posted a new video today with Muse-choreo, so it seems he is sticking with it :)
