i have an honest question though it might be a bit off topic.

because of the difficulty of the lutz jump with the correct edge and with minimal pre-rotation, does this mean that those jumping with the "ideal/correct" edge/technique are more prone to ankle injury (ankle or ligament stress) instead of those that jump with the wrong edge and/or pre-rotate?

Is the wrong edge really just a bad habit for some skaters?

Its hard to find skater with proper technique on all of their jumps, if i must choose probably Kostner. Tuktamysheva also but with her flip edge being iffy now im not sure... Yuna also have quite iffy flip sometimes.

As for per jump
Lutz
- Elizaveta Tuktamysheva
- Yuna Kim
- Carolina Kostner
- Tomoe Kawabata
- Mako Yamashita
- Rika Kihira
- Alexia Paganini
- Nana Araki

Flip
- Carolina Kostner
- Mako Yamashita
- Rika Kihira

Loop
- Kaori Sakamoto
- Evgenia Medvedeva
- Ashley Wagner
- Mirai Nagasu

Salchow
- Evgenia Medvedeva
- Wakaba Higuchi

Axel
- Wakaba Higuchi
- Yuna Kim
- Kaori Sakamoto
- Adelina Sotnikova
- Mirai Nagasu

Yuna is one of the best flip technique ever !! She did "Lip" sometimes in career BUT when she focused and modify her Flip like 2007 world , 2010 Vancouver , 2013 Les mis , 2014 Send in the clown ,all that program she did the best Flip (when she did true flip she is better technique than Kostner , Rika , Mako

Example
2014 Olympics
https://youtu.be/EAw2x7DnDzc
Flawless with textbook straight line after 3turn , slightly inside edge , minimal less 1/4 pre rotations , so tight air position , stunning soft knee bend on the landing

2007 Worlds 3F3T
https://youtu.be/D3L94OqDf-o
Perfect 3turn and straight line , inside edge with nearly flat (good flip is slight inside edge not deep inside edge) , delayed , tight air position , soft knee landing

Overall jumps:

Yuna Kim
Rika Kihira (except for the scary off axis 3loop)
Carolina Kostner (the jumps themselves are pristine but telegraphed too much)
Liza T

Individual jumps:
Kaori - 3Lo 2A
Evgenia - 3Sal
SoYoun - 3Sal
Alena - 3A
Tomoe - 3lz 3T
Wakaba - 2A
Gracie - 3Lz

and i'm sure many others have correct technique on at least one jump. LOL

Skating (skaters with pristine edges and turns, great posture through out)
Satoko
Yuna (great, smooth SS especially starting 2013)
Carolina
Alena K
Rika

I would put spins but I think that's more on the flexibility rather than technique. Although, centering and maintaining speed are technique based feats. I think most achieve this?

I agree with jenm ^^ Speaking of which, if anyone hasn’t seen Soyoun Park’s 3Sal yet, I suggest you go see it right now :) now that’s how you do the jump!
