Seeing as I have not been playing the Junior Game so far, there is not much point in joining now. So, just the Seniors for me.

I should add, not having fskate.ru made this a lot more difficult. So, I hope that it comes back soon.

In the Ladies, the main problem was what order to put the 3 youngsters in. Because, we haven’t seen them competing against each other this season. Trusova and Kostornaia had pretty similar international PB’s, so I decided to just go for the one I am slightly more familiar with her due to doing an update to her Fan Fest one time.

My main problem was that I really wanted to put Zagitova onto the podium. But, Kihira and Shcherbakova have both scored a lot higher than her at their respective GP’s. The other complication is that Kihira has been scoring higher than Shcherbakova all season, despite the fact that Shcherbakova has won all her competitions this season. So, the best compromise I could come up with was to put Rika in 3[SUP]rd[/SUP], Alina in 4[SUP]th[/SUP] and Anna in 5[SUP]th[/SUP]

The top 2 places in the Men was straightforward enough. But, the other four have been scoring so similarly this season. Since Aymoz had the highest SB score of the three, and it was also his absolute PB, I put him onto the podium.

It was so hard to decide what order to put Jin and the Russians in. I didn’t want to put any of them into the bottom position! But, somebody had to be there. And, in the end, I decided to try something I have never done before. I took the average of their scores from the 4 international competitions each of them has done, and ordered them by that.

When I looked at the scores for the Pairs partnerships on Rink Results, it was close. Well, the Top 2 were close, and the rest were close! I went for Sui / Han for the win because, although Boikova / Kozlovskii have the slightly higher score from this season, the Chinese have been consistently scoring in the late 120’s, whereas the Russians only got over 120 once.

I was always putting Peng / Jin into third. The next 2 places were a toss up between Moore-Towers / Marinaro and Mishina / Galliamov. But, since the Canadians have been scoring consistently near 210 whereas the Russians’ scores have been spread out between 200 and 210, I went for the Canadians.

In Ice Dance, I’m sticking to my guns with Papadakis / Cizeron. But, like in Russia, I am only dropping them down to 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] to minimise the damage. I do think Sinitsina / Katsalapov will put up more of a challenge to them than Stepanova / Bukin did in Russia, though.

There was no question as to who I was putting onto the podium with them. P[SUP]2[/SUP]. For the remaining partnerships, I couldn’t decide, so I opted to repeat my experiment from the Men.

Sorry about that. But, it is done to prevent cheating. Believe it or not, we did once have somebody completely change their Men's predictions after the Men's SP was over. And since the scorers can't see when posts have been edited any more, or their edit histories, I now have to close the thread completely to prevent cheating.

Which is a shame, because for those events when the SP's are spread out over a few days, I liked having the extra time to ponder my choices for the later competitions. But, hey, that's the way it has to be.

Ok. I understand. It’s all right. I decided to put Alysa first yesterday but completely forgot. Oh well, we’ll see!

ETA: I've posted again with the winners' table; see page 9 (?) of this thread.

PAIRS RESULTS

Hi all! I’m still double-checking scores, but wanted to quickly honor our ONE gold medalist, thedeclan, who scored 80 points
by having places 1, 2, 5 and 6 correct; the only error was switching places 3 & 4.

It appears that about 20 people will get silver with scores of 70 & nearly 50 (!) will get bronze with 60.

Other than the downgrade of some of their elements, what happened with Sinitisina and Kaplastov at the end. The scoring sheet shows a fall but I watched it twice and I thought they were doing a sliding movement. They looked pretty stunned too. I'm not objecting just trying to understand.

Well, guess who's not getting anything for Men's predictions? Yours truly since I forgot to predict 4/6 of the standings! :dbana:

Yes - I did the same thing. This is what I found out on the internet: If the partners finish the sliding movement as a stop or by sitting or lying on the ice, it will be considered a fall or illegal movement.

I feel like Chock/Bates ruined everyone's ice dance predictions
But it was glorious and so, so worth it
