2020 goals:
1. Pass Adult Intermediate MIF by the end of 2020.
2. Improve footwork and spins for Adult Gold FS.
3. keep trying to get my axel and doubles fully rotated for Adult Gold FS.
4. achieve middle splits
5. push front splits (both sides) further to get oversplits
6. keep working on back/shoulder flexilibilty for biellmann/layback positions.
7. non-skating goal: maybe get the OK to go en pointe in ballet by the end of 2020.

As for previous years, I make videos to keep track of my progress. 2.5 years of skating progress and 2017-2019 spin progress
2017 - Adult Pre-Bronze MIF/FS PASSED
2018 - Adult Bronze MIF/FS & Adult Silver MIF PASSED
2019 - Adult Gold MIF & Adult Silver FS PASSED
2020 - hopefully Adult Intermediate MIF

I post progress videos more frequently to instagram than youtube: https://www.instagram.com/crystalized.skates/
You can see the current state of my under-rotated axel and double jumps there.

My goal is to mainly land an axel. I've dabbled with a few exercises but mental blocks have stopped me from going for the jump. Today, however, I just forced myself to do it and after a few falls I realised falling wasnt that bad:) plus my coach says I nearly landed one!

Thanks! I finished my degree in mechanical engineering this year and just started a PhD in experimental fluid dynamics this september.
Software engineering is so impressive! I'm having to learn some programming languages for my phd and its like a whole new world!

My goals:
1) Relearn my axel and double salchow (I have competed 7 years ago and jumped these jumps. Actually got my double sal on the third try.)
2) Start working on back sit and back camel spins
3) Start working on double jumps in general
4) Do outside spread eagles and Ina Bauers

As a 53 year old who only started Figure Skating (although I first stood on skates when I was 8, and I've been watching since the 80s) 4 yrs ago, my goals are a little less lofty than some, bearing in mind that the older you get, the less easy it becomes to learn things fast while the fear of falling increases as well.

1. Do a nice performance at our yearly club show.
2. Get that loop! (only a single, but even so).
3. Get that sit spin with enough rotations and not getting dizzy.

Skate more! (This is a tall order, I have a stressful job, a toddler, and a husband who wants me to quit)

TFW I can't even skate backwards. Does anyone have tips?

This is the part of the forum where skaters come to talk.

You can start a thread with your question though, this thread is not the place.
