I see casinos in Vegas are opening in a week or two.

The capacity for the Orleans arena is listed at 9,500. For those who attended last year, about how full was the arena, 30%, 50%, 80% full? If the event proceeds, not sure how many tickets the organizers will be permitted to sell.

In, Feb, I decided to attend and bought some non refundable hotel reservations (not at the Orleans).

FWIW, unofficial estimates of 2019 Skate America attendance are here:

(I do not know what the site's track record for accuracy is.)

I cannot tell whether you are wishing at this point that you could get a hotel refund?

My two cents: If (???) so, I think it would be worth a try to ask the hotel whether its cancellation policy has become more flexible in light of the pandemic. (I would suggest asking sooner rather than later.)

Thanks ^. With no event having more than an estimated 2800 attendance, that comes close to social distancing. Hotel hasn't charged me yet, and won't until time of event.

Any word on how skaters will be ranked for GP assignments since we don't have 2020 World medalists?

I have a feeling that the ISU will fudge the assignments to try and have the stars as spread out as possible. The only sure (well, as sure as things can be in this totally unsure year, which is.... not very) things will be that -

- Nathan Chen will be at Skate America, and P/C probably France

- Yuzuru Hanyu will be anywhere he wants

- the Skaters Previously Known as 3A will be separated
