I really didn’t intend to be doing this so late. But, retuning a temperamental TV yesterday took a LOT longer than I expected, and I got distracted this morning with a reply to one of my posts in Le Café… :p

We all know who is going to be on the podium in the ladies; it is just a matter of the order. Although it was purely by chance rather than a conscious decision, I actually put them in order of age at the Senior GP Final and at Nationals. But, in light of winning Nationals and being runner-up at the Senior GP Final, I have promoted Anna to 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] position. Still keeping fait in Aliona for the win, though!

For best of the rest, I am going for another young Russian. The one that is representing Poland. I am so impressed with how Kurakova is progressing. She isn’t up there with the younger Russians yet, but in a few years time I think she could be. So much potential!

There does seem to be a changing of the guard this season. So, I wasn’t sure what to do with the rest of the field. When ordered by absolute PB, Schott was next, but there were a lot of young skaters close behind her. But, since we haven’t seen them up against each other, and so can’t do direct comparisons, I decided to keep the order as it was.

In the Men, I would have loved to put Aliev on the top. But, it is hard to bet against Aymoz with the form he is in this season.

I made quite a few changes after this. According to the absolute PB list, Rizzo was 3[SUP]rd[/SUP], Bychenko was 5[SUP]th[/SUP] and Kvitilashvili was 6[SUP]th[/SUP]. However, none of t hem have been scoring near those scores this season. Particularly Bychenko. So, I moved them down to where they would be on the SB list.

I did feel guilty that this meant the veteran Bychenko was out of the Top 10, but it’s a dog eat dog world.

On the plus side, it meant that fellow veteran Březina moved up to his traditional spot! (cathlen will be happy to see this!)

Pairs presented a dilemma. This season, Tarasova and Morozov have not been doing as well as we have come to expect. Boikova and Kozlovskii have been the stars so far. However, there was only half a point between them at Nationals, where they both achieved their best scores of the season.

In the end, I went with the tale of the season. For the next 2 positions, there was no question as to who I was putting where. But, I did have a dilemma over 5[SUP]th[/SUP] and 6[SUP]th[/SUP]: Germany or Austria. They have been so well matched all season. In the end, I went for the Germans, as they have been the ones that have been slightly ahead all season.

In Ice Dance, I’m still sticking to my guns. So, Vik and Nik are again at the top ahead of Gabby and Will. I have Stepanova and Bukin completing the podium. So nothing strange there.

Normally I would have put Tiff and Jon in 4[SUP]th[/SUP]. But, this time I decided to put them in 5[SUP]th[/SUP], and have Guignard and Fabbri in 4[SUP]th[/SUP]. Hey, with my protesting, I need all the points I can get!

I'm stunned.

If only I had put Lilah / Lewis and Tiff /Jon the other way around, I would have had the perfect score! :drama:

:bang: :bang: :bang:

In fact, if I had also put Nazarova / Nikitin behind Kaliszek / Spodyriev, I would have had the whole of the Top 10 correct!

the dance and men's results have doomed us all :palmf:

Men, yes.

But the Dance result hasn't doomed me!!!

Although I said after their first event that I would not be putting them on top for the rest of the season, I honestly didn't expect my protest to ever pay off.

So, that it has paid off has come as a real shock to me.

But, I'll take it!

Wow, yes, grats on seeing that one coming, CaroLiz_fan! I will, again, focus on how awesome it is that SK won gold, heh. About the only thing I guessed was SB coming third...
