If this has happened to you, you are not crazy.
Lets say you want tickets to a figure skating event, or any other event, in the American West.
You go to the official site, click on "buy tickets".
You are taken to a site called "TicketsWest"
You choose your seats, click "buy," and a count down timer starts.
You try to log in, but the site doesnt believe you have the password or user name correct.
The clock is running.
So you make a new account.
Annnnddddd...the clock runs out.
So you choose other seats, and since you are now logged in, you can buy them.

This has happened to me three times. At least.

So I asked TW what the deal was......

They said that you have to have a different sign in for each venue they control. All 13 plus of them. Perhaps you can create the same sign in for each of the venues....
At any rate, here is what they told me.
"Each venue of that Ticketswest caters for tickets actually maintains their own database for ticket sales. Hence, each venue will require you to create a separate accounts."
So the lesson is that if you plan to attend an event, see if they use ticketswest and make an account before hand. Even if they dont, make an account before hand.
Here are some of the venues that use ticketswest.
