Seems I was mistaken in the location of Adelina's condition.
In the neck it's even more dangerous.

But the operation was successful and recovery has started. She probably needs to wear one of those collars for a while, not pretty.

At the hospital, Adelina was filmed in the corridor fearing the cervical collar. She seems to be fine after the difficult surgery.

Good God this is quite a surprise to hear about this for at Adelina. I can only hope she makes a full recovery and lives a normal full life. Figure skating is a great sport but also and brutal sport on the body.

Adelina had been discharged at Friday, recovering at home.

Pluschenko mentioned she was in hands of the same doctor who did his own surgery some years ago. So it's neck/spine related as it was stated already.
