Once Upon a Time in the West - Brezina (I'd love for Mariah or Bradie to skate to it!)

Thank you for this! Morricone is my absolute favourite film composer, and Once Upon a Time in the West just edges The Mission and The Sicilian Clan in my favourite scores; I firmly believe that the Man With a Harmonica is the most perfect piece of thematic film music of all time.

My other favourite is The Thing, but I am not holding my breath for anyone to tackle that one

Sad news, such a loss to the world of music and great music to skate to. I always remember Elvis Stojko skating to the Mission in 1991

Kurt Browning - Tall in the Saddle Special - Wow, featuring Kurt as a cowboy....awesome

1980 Liliana Rehakova & Stanislav Drastich CZE in the 1980 Olympics FD skated the middle section of their program to The Man With the Harmonica and I always remembered the music fondly from the early days of modern ice dancing. I'm sure someone else has used it, but a name is not coming to mind. Enjoy!

May I mention a soundtrack to which to my knowledge no one ever skated - yet (?):

The whole soundtrack to La Piovra is beautiful but less known then his other works, enjoy!

Thank you both, for making this devotee very happy. ABC's Classics FM (the national classical music channel) has been doing a nightly program of Morricone music in remembrance, so we have been blessed with some more than I haven't heard before...

Maia & Alex Shibutani: Cinema Paradiso

When I first saw them skate that free dance at 2009 Junior Worlds I immediately became a huge fan. I was getting an error for this video so if it doesn't work take a look at the skate from the 2008 JGPF (which isn't quite as good).

The great Italian composer Ennio Morricone died today at the age of 91. He's responsible for some of the most iconic film scores of our time, including The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, Days of Heaven, and The Hateful Eight. Skating fans know his music well: countless programs have been skated to music from The Mission, Cinema Paradiso, The Untouchables, La Califfa (Lady Caliph), and many other films.

What's your favorite Morricone program? I'll start with Matthew Savoie's 2005/2006 free skate to Gabriel's Oboe, Asuncion, and The Falls from The Mission (there's also a bit from Once Upon a Time in America and the program started with Journey of Man
by Benoit Jutras).

Matthew is such a wonderful interpretative skater, and his musicality is second to none. He really could perform to this music.
