I'm biased towards my faves per usual, but I was smiling through Liza and Devid's program throughout and Sonya and Sasha showed so much improvement (Sasha Shustitskiy bulked up for sure) and promise. I also liked Kaganovskaya/Angelopol, they look like they have a good future :)

3) Irina Khavronina - Dario Chirizano

for some reasons we have to wait 3 days for that :scratch2:

Because of the virus danger. It was desided that every descipline will arrive to Novogorst at their own time. So for preventing crowd there is a 2-days split.
Today the ice dancers will have a departure, all the rooms and the ring will sanitize and tomorrow the pairs will arive. 1,5 days for trainings and on the 13th the proframms will be presented.

One pair skated to R&J. So one warhorse :)

At Free Dance - for me Irina Khavronina - Dario Chirizano were the best. But two other mentioned couples also are very good, if mentioning that it is only test skate and for competitions skating will be more polished.

Finally I saw the rest of the control skates. My favourites of the free:
Elizaveta Shanayeva-David Narizhny
Vasilisa Kaganovskaya - Valery Angelopol
Angelina Lazareva - Maxim Prokofiev
Sofia Aleksova - Ilya Vladimirov (who BTW skated with Kaganovskaya in Ice Age Kids - somehow I regret the pairs from the show probably mostly don't continue together)

Were Leonteva/Gorelkin injured? They came 7th at junior nationals last year.

Asking the same question for Mukhametzianova/Mironov in pairs?

Do all the skaters for the russian cup finals or nationals have to take part in test skates or will there be exceptions say for health reasons (U/N)?

From what i understand, the test skate is there to give skaters some sort of feedback from the officials, some of them being ISU tech specialists and the judges, or other coaches and TAT :) So, it is existing just to help skaters improve their skating and programmes during the skating season. Its not 'obligatory' for anyone.

I liked the concept of Shanaeva/Narizhnyy's free. I really enjoyed the first part especially twizzles, up until the main lyrics came in (spins section) and I hope the choreo steps develop more. Good job after having 3 months away from the ice!

Thanks for the swift response!

I am just so happy to get home to have FS to watch :yahoo:
Me too! I'm going to watch a marathon of test skates this weekend!

This is only 3rd or 4th time I watch ice dance, so what I liked doesn’t reflect any sort of knowledge lol. But fwiw I liked the most

Tyutyunina/Shustitsky, Khavronina/Chirizano and Aleksova/Vladimirov

EDIT: also, is there a confirmation that both ladies and gentlemen skate on the 18-19th at the time shown in the first post or is there updated time?

What people like probably depends a lot on what criteria they find the most important (music choice, innovative elements, charisma etc.).

For me, I liked Kaganovskaia/Angelopol, Alexova/Vladimirov, Katashinskaia/Vaskovich and Lazareva/Prokofiev the most because the partners' physiques/skating styles match well and they skate close together. Instead of overusing hand-to-hand/arm holds in their step sequences like some others, these teams transit quickly between a variety of proper dance holds (kilian, open, closed).

Still, Khavronina/Chirizano's mimed keyboard smashing was

The Mukhametzianova/Mironov question was answered by Gordana in the Russian pairs thread.
