Given all that is - and isn't - going on both in sport and in life at the minute, and the resultant hard wear on the nerves, I thought a thread with a sunny side might be nice.

So.

Can I suggest one where we give credit to all the good and kind and heartwarming things our skaters have done over the years? Both the large - like Yuna's and Yuzuru's charity/philanthropy work/donations, or the recent fundraiser hosted by Jason and Gracie - and the small, such as a hug or a cheer from the KnC when a competitor is heading out on the ice, or doing something special for a fan.

Let me start off with this lovely gesture from Keegan, holding up the Japanese flag for Yuzu at during the anthem at ACI 19.

This is a lovely idea!

Big Things:
Kaitlyn Weaver and Jordan Cowan's Open Ice! project to raise money for UN Foundation's Response Fund (link to the full livestream here in case anyone missed it), featuring contributions from many skaters, past and present.

Small Things:
Madi and Zach applauding and supporting Charlène and Marco from the 'green room' before their scores came in at GPF 2018: https://youtu.be/J4BRz8qeg8Y?t=450
Laurence helping Charlène and Marco onto the podium at Lombardia Trophy 2019, then Nikolaj making himself 'shorter': https://youtu.be/NWoKrLKaSvQ?t=5042
Mariah presenting Alena with the gold medal at IdF 2019: https://youtu.be/kzeqIgEAPhc?t=18

Great idea for a thread!

I loved how Brady & Mariah helped Alyssa Liu up on the US Ladies' podium 2 seasons in a row (2019, 2020)!

Definitely the highly enjoyable medal fiasco between Mariah Alena and Alina. That was one of the sweet highlights of the shortened 2019 2020 season.
