Coincidence? Shelepen - injury. Voronov was injured too. Pitkeev - career ending injury. Lipnitskaya - anorexia. Tsurskaya - injury. Medvedeva - injury. Tarakanova - whatever she had. Illness? Or injury? Can’t you really see the pattern? I have respect for whatever Tutberidze manages to squeeze out of the kids, but skating under her seems to be very high but only short term success and injury. The body obviously can’t take it longer than five years. Medvedeva seems to have lasted the longest at the top, but ended up the same as the others. I am giving Zagitova four more years max before she is injured, unless she switches coach earlier. No one lasted more than 5 years and most of them less.

I don't think Eteri can be blamed for injuries in a sport that's so injury prone, to be honest, injuries happen to everyone no matter who they are coached by.

I think her very intense method may not be ideal for skaters who are recovering from an injury though.

I think it's just a combination of a very strict diet and overtraining. Other successful coaches have these problems too, if you look at the other top skaters in ladies, Satoko Miyahara was coming from a bad injury while 3 years ago Kaetlyn Osmond had to skip a season entirely.

Skaters are not leaving Eteri because of injuries but most of the time because they feel they are not getting enough attentions from the coaches which is understandable given how many successful skaters Eteri/Sergej/Daniil/the new guy (i can't remember the name, sorry :( ) are managing. I remember Julia in particular literally said it.

If you are this talented at some point you realize that at Sambo70 you're like the 4-5th best skater of that group but if you go somewhere else you have good chances to be the top skater and receive all the attentions you need.

Take Tarakanova, she is now clearly the best skater at the Academy, while at Sambo70 she was behind Trusova, Kostornaya, maybe Shcherbakova, and definitely behind Zagitova and Medvedeva.

One of the Davydov's skaters(Ryabova i guess) recently left him saying that the reason is that he focuses now mainly on Tarusina. And he has literally only two decent skaters, one of which is not even junior eligible(Berestovskaya). One can imagine how it is in Tutberidze's camp where there are plenty of top skaters.

And the other Ryabova is now with Plushenko.
Doesn't Davydov also have Samodelkina?

I wouldn't say that Eteri is to blame for those injuries, figure skating is a cruel sport and accidents happen. However, what I think is that she may be struggling with taking care of her already injured students. It's just not adequate to expect from them to train the same amount with the same difficulty as the non-injured ones. Although I believe that after Lipnitskaya and Pikteev she learnt her lesson and now she is more human towards them. Scherbakova - they gave her full time recovery after she broke her leg. I think Polina also got a chance to get some treatment (?). And..there was Medvedeva, her timing was the worst and I think it was a combination of not so much experience with injuries, strive to win (from both coach and student) and the lack of proper psychological support.

The pattern that all those skaters share is not only the injury but the struggle to come back at their previous level after the injury. I can imagine how hard it is to gain your conditioning back while at the same time there are 4-5 other girls, taking the lead and becoming proper attention and support from their coach.
I do understand that injuries are a part of the sport, but the injury rates of her skaters seem to be quite high. And another telling thing is that all those skaters who I named left her after they have been injured. It is not an accident that everyone gets injured and then leaves - I think it is likely that they realise that their body can’t take Tutberidze’s training methods. Skaters do get injured, but Tutberidze’s students seems to getting quite high rate of career ending injuries or illnesses. Shelepen, Pitkeev, Lipnitskaya, they attempted to continue for a year or two but the body was never same afterwards. Can you think of any other coach where so many students need to retire so young because they got injured?

Can you imagine that coaches are left with so many reasons? As I have written recently with Zhenya's departure, the average length of Orser's training ladies is about two years. As I'm not observing his team so closely, I don't know the real reasons (maybe money, he is really expensive), but such claim really demands real facts, no claims without solid evidence. The other thing is how many other coaches has such huge numbver of medal contenders. Yes, when some coach has one or two top skaters, it is different situation, the training looks different and if such top skater is injured, there is no worry about staying behind even if he hes to miss entire season.
And we don't know what was the reason for e. g. Anastasia changing the coaches. But we know that others, like Alina, Anna and Even Zhenya were injured for longer time and yet they had the chance to return back on top and mostly they catched it up. So with those who left (and absolutely not necesatrilly due to health issues) there must be other side mentioned and when it comes to comparing with other coaches, it is necessary to speak about how long they train individual skaters, namely those on top. Not claim only one side of the coin, which sounds pretty biased.

It will be nice to see what kind of style she'll have under Plushenko. I lived Sima's programs last year. Hopefully they'll come up with something that's a good fit for Tarakanova.

Serafima came to Plushy with those programs. She only moved into Plushy's group at the end of September 2017 but she had programs done already from months prior under Rukavitsyn, choreographed by N. Mikhailov. Nikita has both Serafima's programs from this past season on his resume. Vladimir Samoilov's programs (SP, LP) are from Plushy's team but sadly the choreographer no longer work there.

I'm welcome this change. Tutberidze is not a bad coach. But currently she simply has too many students. Anastasia is better off somewhere else.

I'm just wondering about how soon Plushenko's school will have its full size rink...

Whie I can see it being a good place for her to rehabilitate and work on some of her more evident deficiencies... while building confidence with a coach who will appreciate her strengths, there is only so much one can do training on a small rink.

Samoilov's programs were choreographed by Daniil Gleichengauz, he skated those at RN 2017 when he was still representing Sambo70

I disagree. He is on the shows continously for example he was in Japan for 1,5 months. He is on the transitional period from skating to coaching work. Probably he thinks as long as he is popular as long as he is interesting for the people he skates. But he must choose or he would have to undertake less shows.

Makes you wonder who will be her main coach while he's away doing shows? Seems most of his specialist have left and Volkov has a big group. I counted about 19 students in 1 photo not including Kovalev

I don’t think we’ll understand the full scope of things for some time....if ever. She seems like a private and focused person. I’m just hoping she can make the best of what she has. She knows what she needs to do and how to achieve it. Let’s just hope she finds her way :)

Hopefully there will be less shows by the end of the summer, though I realise the junior season begins earlier, so may not be soon enough.

I know he had to cancel some show recently as he'd injured himself.

I don't know what his show schedule looks like for the rest of the year - apart from Swan Lake in December - I haven't heard anything about any King on Ice shows, which generally take place in the autumn. Maybe there won't be any this year?

Maybe plushyfan will know, though.:)

What I know Plush said he wants to skate for 2-3 years ( his wife said 4 ;) ) but they built a very good new school. And started the work with little students. If you remember the media( The Russian media is the worst with the Russian celebrities they shamefully lying! always want to make scandal) maked a big scandal because of the price of the school. That is true that is very very expensive for the average Russians but they doen't receive support from the state they pay everything alone but that is a business, too of course. Well, there are 60-70 little students now and many unknown coaches are working with them. Plushy said in a interview it became a lucrative business.

But we all know the size of rink is not standard thus that isn't good for the juniors and the adult skaters . According to the Plush's intervew the new rink will be open soon. (Last year they bought the territory in Moscow!!!!! the media wrote about it.) I believe the new standard rink was a lots of money again. Maybe they think Plush can earn the money for it on shows in this year ( Ha was the most expensive skater for years, I know Lambiel's price concretly he is really expensive and Plushy is more expensive! OMG! ) He is very popular his name one of the ticketsellers everywhere thus the organizers invite him eveywhere. And I didn't talk about the own great shows with cca 130-150 000 viewers/years.

His next shows will be in Hiroshima , 18-19 08. , and the Opera on Ice 21-22. 09. probably he has signed contracts , they can cancell hardly. I don't know Kings on ice shows in this year right now .
The Swan Lake project is preparing the shows will be held in 29.12 2018-08.01. 2019. I believe that will be after the Rus Nat. In Ferbruary he said that was the last skating on Art One Ice shows he doesn't want to skate there more times thus I don't know more shows in the future. Right now.;)

I believe if he has built the new rink he thinks seriously the coaching but he would stay and work in his academy more time but it has to be maintained and operated ... a lots of money! Very hard situation of his private school in the first years. If he has more top skaters this will be solved. But he needs to survive this period.
I believe he knows Nastya and her talent is a big responsibility! Probably Nastya's parents were smart and they asked some conditions for her. Plush is very busy right now he is under a intensive medical treatment because of his injury and they will start the summer camp in 18 July in Bulgaria, plus he should be optained more experts as you said RemyRose. I'm really curious for the camp what and who will be visible.

I don't know anything about Kovalyev.

I have totally new infromations:

Am I the only person that thinks Plushenko needs to pick a horse to sit on? Be a coach or being a traveling show-skater, but this attempt at being both is a disservice to the people who are paying a small fortune for him to be their coach.
