  • In tangentially Dai related news the Kinoshita Academy has been launched at the newly built Kyoto and Kanku Ice Arenas. Mie Hamada has been designated the position of general manager with Yamato Tamura serving as head coach. The coaching staff is reinforced by Hiroaki Sato and Kana's sister Satsuki Muramoto. Dai has been involved with Kanku Arena from the early stages as an advisor and sort of a patron * (not sure if this word is correct - I tried to find a translation for "Schirmherr") and took part in its opening ceremony. The rink is set up to be used as an ice dance and pairs skating training center. As of December 2019 Cathy and Chris Reed had intended to relocate and expand their ice dance program from Kandai to the new facility. I wish Cathy the strength to still pursue her and her brother's shared dream.

Satsuki lived in Thailand and helped Thai skaters as a coach for a while after she retired. Narumi Takahashi will be also coaching for pair skaters at Kanku Rink. :)

Flapper-dai uploaded the part of Dai, Utako and Norio rewatching Dai's FS over dinner on tumblr as well. I love it so much. They behave just like family joking around and teasing each other and Dai's special relationship with Nagamitsu-sensei is so palpable here. I hadn't seen some of the skaters' reactions while watching Dai live in the arena before. I recall they showed Satoko and Rika on TV, but I wasn't aware how anxious Marin was for him (bless her ❤):

Oh yes, I remember this one vividly! He did so well on most challenges and should have gotten the point for the tie challenge too imo. The referee was really strict! :laugh:

Unfortunately Dai hasn't been on one of these new year game shows for a while now. I think the last one was Arashi ni Shiyagare - This is MJ in 2018 on which he had to fight zombies and did this impressive slide under a closing gate :rock::

I was wondering too, but I really loved Sheltering Sky.

I did get to watch the video from a kind fan. It was really nice to see him working with David and
