Alena fell on a downgraded 3Lz, but other things were good, except for the spins, where she did not hold for long enough some positions.
Ah, she also fell on her final position, which costed her second deduction

Maybe JGP assignments? ;) Not too sure, though…

Honestly though, Alena needs to really change her LP. It doesn't fit her too well. :hopelessness:

Well, she is going to change it. It is end of the season. Unless she wants to do some B competitions (if there are any), her season ended.

I just hope she doesn't insist on having a perfect Tango in her repertoire this time. I've read her interviews on how she wants a Tango, but I don't think it suits her. When her Tango SP didn't work, she wanted a Tango LP…which didn't exactly work out well for her. I hope she learns from this and plays to her strengths next season. She has to go for a character piece (like her SP, or her witch FS a few seasons ago) or something…she is a character skater after all.

And that second fall…:hopelessness:

Be realistic. It is hard to compete with those who can do 7 triples FS if she struggles with loop and Salchow. This time she was lucky and loop worked, but she doubled Salchow. Usually toe jumps are her strength, but she messed up the Lutz.
2 falls, doubled Salchow, the Lutz probably underrotated or downgraded...I think the judges were quite generous, but international judges are not as generous and she will be dropping in rankings.

The 3Lz definitely looks like a downgrade, so that's 2.1 rather than 6.0…and that doesn't take into account the GOE deductions because of the fall. It would probably be worth only 1.2 points. :hopelessness:

In the interview week ago, Maria said she wants to skate in seniors next year, because "it's much more interesting and tougher": https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=mqtL1l0AD8Y#t=51 (0:51 mark)

Do you have any info about other top Russian juniors and their plans for next season?

One would think that Medvedeva, Sakhanovich and Yanovskaya/Mozgov are going to skate in seniors next year but how about Petrov? Is he going to skate in seniors next year?

This season was the last junior season for Vigalova/Zakroev. Where there other notable russian skaters who skated their last junior season?

Pairs:
Vigalova/Zakroev
Lina Fedorova/Maxim Miroshkin
Alina Solovyova/Viktor Kudryavtsev (not sure if you would call them notable, they didn't get sent to JGP events, but they did place 4th at Russian junior nationals, beating Beklemishcheva/Bobrov and Gainetdinova/Alekseev)

Ladies:
Sakhanovich and Medvedeba very likely.
Sotskova said in recent interview that she would like to compete in seniors, so it is likely that she will too.
Proklova, Yushenko, Kayumova, Ogoreltseva and Pervushkina will be old enough to move if they wanted, but this coming season seniors ladies will be more crowded than juniors, so it doesn't make sense for them to move.

In men - hard to say. They seem to be staying in juniors longer than ladies.

Let's wait for the termination of JrWorlds at first. My congratulations to Sasha Proklova, with the second victory in a season! And the sum 180+ is a quite good, I believe the next season will be much more successful for her. Alyona Leonova once again confirmed her reputation of the extremely unstable skater. Unfortunately, I don't see prospects for her in the Russian national team

It's pretty hard to say, but Mishin thinks Petrov is able to compete in seniors, so... we have all reasons to expect that he will skate in seniors next year. Although I think he is not so good enough at the moment.

I'm very disappointed about Natalia's performance. She is very beautiful skater, and she has great combination 3lo-3lo, and her spins are beautiful, but today she didn't cope with her nerves.

She is all over the place last two seasons. Her scores this season are between 120.39!!! (at Russian Cup) and 167.03 (another Russian Cup). That's nowhere near enough. It also didn't help that she chose to do senior nationals rather than junior nationals, and then finished there 10th. So she probably won't get JGP spot next season. She will be senior eligible next season, but I can't see her getting a GP event. It might be more sensible to stay on junior level, otherwise she may end up doing only B competitions. But long time prospect with this scores is dropping down the ranks like Korobeynikova until she eventually disappears. She looked so promising 2 years ago, and then it suddenly went downhill.

And maybe Feditchkina will step up a bit. She has technically everything she needs to have. All she needs now is a bit of consistency and put some power into her skating.
Exactly my thought - she has jumps, artistic skills and presence (pretty and elegant girl), she's just lacking speed and explosiveness.

The consistency. There is such competition within Russian ladies, that consistency will be very important. The Federation needs to know that when they send her, she will deliver. Russian Federation is not very forgiving; they want to feel that they can rely on the skater to bring them the medal.

Yeah, I have allways liked her skating but nowadays her resurrection seems highly unlikely. She is still relatively young though, maybe she should try pair skating. Or maybe she should try to find a way to represent some other country.
