CBC Sports now has a separate twitter account for Olympic-related tweets (@CBCOlympics) found here...

With this new twitter, CBC is profiling a [relatively] new social media mini-video feature posted to YouTube called "Olympic InstaCreep" :agree:

.....this seems to mean weekly Instagram-based updates on the Canadian Road to the Olympic Games as opposed to anything of a more gothic nature...;)

The complete Olympic InstaCreep playlist, with host Jacqueline Doorey, can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDsQU3UFA4hVjk3hy-9wt8rBci1xSHgA4

Today's cheeky Olympic InstaCreep leads off with figure skating, including Virtue/Moir's long program music and Skate Canada's High Performance Camp...

I know it's a little early to tell but I think they're gonna take Moulin Rouge to another level....I can't to see the whole thing!!!! ACI can't come fast enough!!!

Welcome to the Canadian skating discussion thread on The Edge randomsplashes! :agree:

We look forward to hearing from you here...and on the competition threads [even if we're silly and punchy in the middle of our sleep cycle ...whenever that might be...]

I know some people dislike The Skating Lesson/ Dave Lease, but he's been tweeting nice things about Canadian skaters today.

I posted this in V/M's Fan Fest, but he tweeted "Early reports of Virtue and Moir's free dance is that it is simply amazing."

When someone replied, "Are we surprised though?", he added "Even by their standards". :hap10: And a couple of other skaters responded.

Eric Radford said, "Tis. Bring Tissues." And Kirsten Moore-Towers said, "It is exceptional. Even for them."

So that sounds good.

According to him Kaetlyn and Alaine both skated clean short programs, as did Kirsten and Michael: https://twitter.com/SkatingLesson/status/903001431397031936
He also said that Kirsten and Michael were stellar in both programs. I know he likes Kirsten a lot, so he can be biased, but they looked good in the Quebec comp too : https://twitter.com/SkatingLesson/status/903620792226906112

He didn't mention anyone else yet, which doesn't mean they weren't clean or anything.

 Where is Mr. Rice when you need him, Sarah? In his absence, and with his forgiveness...KAAAAABOOOOMMM!!!

I know right?! Here we have an actual situation where a literal KABOOOOOM would be applicable!

:laugh2:

He just quoted my post about Jennifer Robinson a few pages back in this thread, so he'll be around soon, I'm sure. ;)

Yup, I don't like either TSL or Dave Lease as a rule, but appreciate that he makes the effort to travel to Canada to interview Canadian skaters, as well as to come to the high performance camp.

hi Sarah, hope all is good:):ghug:

You're making a great example of what I said in one of my earlier posts - despite particular personal musical dislike, you were able to warm to the program itself, the way it presented the music and skaters. I think that personal prejudices, reservations about one, sole element of the upcoming program as a whole should not make a decisive opinion on wholesome package we have not yet seen, especially when it comes to Tessa and Scott and their choices made for Olympic season, because well - they did not make themselves an easy path, that's for sure.

I think that their choices are very surprising and unusual, especially SD musical selections, which could be taken as a good and bad thing at the same time, depending on personal take. It's good, because it's fresh, challenging, unusual, bold and very them at the same time, proving that they're still willing to challenge and dare themselves and expand horizons despite broad experience. At the same time - not typical Latin SD and not universally liked 'Moulin Rouge' for sure will make a food for haters/ubers of other teams, accusing them of not fulfilling rhythmic requirements for SD/not being Latin enough/promoting Satan (which already started and is beyond my imagination)/being tacky with 'Moulin Rouge' choice...All that even before full programs were revealed. It's a shame that there is so much personally-inflicted negativity projected, especially towards particular skaters/teams, at the same time - God forbid some to even mention their favourite in any sense...

Hiya! Yes, my life in general is going well, I have more good days than bad days, which is always a positive thing.

I think Tessa and Scott are able to pull of any style of program, even if it takes a while for their fans to get used to. I've never had a deeply negative option of any of their programs, though there are definitely some I loved more than others. Both their choices for Sochi were not my favourites, but I can still definitely appreciate them for what they were. You're right though, fan wars between the top skaters/teams in ALL the disciplines can be downright nasty, and it's quite a shame.

You know what? Even though I'm a V/M fan all the way, I like P/C very much as well, and have never outright hated any their programs. Same goes for ALL the top dance teams: the Shibs, Kaitlyn and my husband Dreamboat Andrew (just give them that Olympic bronze, dammit!!!), Chock and Bates, Piper and Paul, Anna and Luca, Hubbell and Donahue, B/S, S/B (my apologizes for not spelling out these Russian teams' names, its not throwing shade whatsoever, I simply don't know the correct spellings off the top of my head) etc, etc. All have their strengths and weaknesses, but to outright deny some teams' talent, just because you prefer other teams, is downright childish, to be frank. Some fans need to come to terms with what should be a a very obvious reality: NONE of these teams got to where they are for being crappy skaters.
