OMG people! Whoever posted all t hose SOI pictures - the blonde with the ponytail is Madison Hubbell - not Gracie! And Madison is definitely heavier than Gracie! Sheesh.
Does this exempt her? "Winning a medal at the most recent Olympic Winter Games"
I've seen both of them multiple times recently and can tell you for a fact that Gracie is noticeably heavier than Madison now. Using those photos that someone posted since that's what you are referring to....
Gracie: http://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy275/AbsoluteSkating/2017soisanjose/th_IMG_1717.jpg
Madison H: http://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy275/AbsoluteSkating/2017soisanjose/th_IMG_2354.jpg
Them side by side: http://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy275/AbsoluteSkating/2017soisanjose/th_IMG_3014.jpg (You can definitely tell here)

Gracie's pictures from "Stars On Ice" are pretty harsh on her tbh...

I think so, but I'd love for someone to elaborate on this rule. Do team medals count? The only time in recent history that I can recall this exemption being used was Sasha Cohen who showed up at 2010 Nationals, but hadn't competed since 2006 Worlds.
2515 For all championship (senior) events, the following competitors will receive an automatic invitation to the same event;
however, any such competitor or couple must enter to compete through the online registration process as described in
rule 2401 and by the deadline of Sept. 1. Failure to do so will result in the competitor(s) not being entered nor allowed to
compete at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships for the current season.
A. A competitor or couple placing in the top five at last year’s U.S. Figure Skating Championships;
B. A competitor or couple who won a medal at the most recent Olympic Winter Games;
C. A competitor or couple who won a medal at the most recent World Championships.
2517 If a senior competitor who did not place in the top five at the previous U.S. Figure Skating Championships earns a berth
in the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final or the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, the competitor will
receive a bye to the current U.S. Figure Skating Championships only in the discipline in which they have earned the berth
I'd say no.
From the perspective of a team medal — did Gracie earn a berth by winning an Olympic medal in the discipline of ladies figure skating?
Gracie only performed one program in the team event as well.
