Extra difficult jumps. I'm afraid she might be working on 4s. But again, she is excellent at what she does now. She doesn't need a new layout to be the leader in skating:no:

Evgenia should just work on fixing her 3Lz and 2A, and then just maintain everything else she has. While her BV may not end up as high as Mao or Liza, those two are unlikely to hit everything consistently enough to surpass a clean Evgenia.

Agree. Btw, I think that Medvedeva's lutz is getting better. I mean, it wasn't that obvious before, more like the flat side, but now the edge is better. Her axel is the weakest jump for her. She fell just on it this year:eek:

I want to know who will choreograph for Evgenia's sp and fs?
I cannot wait to see her new programs even though the off-season has just begun...

Alexandra was permanently injured last 2 seasons. :(
No. Proklova won Final of Russian Cup (senior) 24-28 Feb 2015. After that she did not compete. So she lost one season, not two.

Mentioning Prokolva we must mention Iuschenko too. Girls of about same level, both lost season 2025/2016, both may recover (or not).

I guess we have a lot of skaters named Polina and Sasha these days. The names seem popular in Russia.
Sasha Proklova and Polina Shuboderova.

State of Russian Junior (at season 2016/2017) Ladies on results of 2015/2016 season.

First.
I believe Sotskova will move to Seniors. Fourth season in Junior top - it is too long. She will have two GP Events - first by JrWorlds medal or Top24 WS, second by 15-th Season Best.

Second.
Tsurskaya and Fedichkina had JGP Final and medals of JrNats. Their state is highest, and they both are not eligible to Senior competitions, so will compete as Juniors.

Third.
For girls who had not highest level Junior Internationals (i.e. JGPF and JrWorlds) most important are JrNats(shortly mentioned as N), Final of Russian Cup-Junior(F), Natonals Younger Age (Y), Spartakiad-Winter Games(S), Nationals Elder Age (E).

Let us see the results (place and score) of Ladies, who are eligible to JGP Events next season, at JGP Events, N, F, Y(SP+FS), S, E.

(in order to JrNats places, "*" means Top6 of JrNats or Top3 of other National competitions, it gives higher state)
*Nugumanova - N 4 (185.36) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0c4I__S7Jc
*Lozko - N 5 (175.55), also won two "B" competitions (Junior) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW7Klzx4C7s
*Samodurova - N 6 (174.62), E 3 (185.47), also won "B" competition (Novice) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCSJv6-zpmo
*Tarusina - N 7 (171.97), F 2 (182.61), Y 2 (185.45), E 1 (190.55) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXG5UrQqUek
*Konstantinova - N 8 (169.55), F 1 (183.68), S 1 (195.24), E 2 (188.03) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zw_IKDeSoEY
Zagitova - N 9 (160.93), F 4 (178.59) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwTmOKB2m7s
Mitrofanova - JGP3 6 (149.02), JGP5 2 (166.63), N 10 (160.14), F 10 (153.09), E 10 (173.13) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Sj7oeNuHdc
Mukhortova - N 11 (159.17), F 7 (165.77), Y 4 (179.20), E 8 (176.29) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IP1BhgWgRsk
Gubanova - N 12 (156.73), F 6 (171.84), E 4 (184.70) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6aNGa3zYzs
Mikhailova - JGP1 5 (141.32), JGP3 4 (152.22), N 13 (155.46), F 8 (161.73) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SFTD64Tvp8
Kurakova - N 15 (149.81), F 5 (176.52) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmRsIFT7GhE
Gulyakova - E 5 (183.27) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hQ2XndkMKQ
Panenkova - E 6 (180.50) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQyjvHOsBmU
(Gulyakova and Panenkova did not compete at JrNats, but skated very well at end of season)

Also Polina Shuboderova (she was not at mentioned competition) is very interesting skater https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4k8E4BCAZM

Probably these girls will pretend to JGP spots.
Also may be Sakhanovich, Proklova, Iuschenko if recover.

Sakhanovich if moves to Seniors may pretend to one GP Event, by 29th Season Best (8th of Russian Ladies pretending to GP Events). It is not reliable.
Maybe for her is better to try to have JGP Events of course if she will be in good state - newcomers are very strong (and she may have Challenger Series Events too).

Gubanova is promising girl (level of Tsurskaya if skates clean) but at this season she was unstable.

Note - girls too young to be Juniors at season 2016/2017 are not mentioned, while there are several younger girls who are not worse.

I am curious which names are popular and which are rare in current Russia. I remember I have seen all these names mentioned in this thread in some long long long Russian novels except Adelina and Polina...

I had a quick look at the videos of the girls AlexRus mentioned up above. Samodurova, Mukhortova and Kurakova are the ones who caught my attention, I'll keep an eye on them. Shuboderova is also interesting, reminding me another Polina I used to root for. (Korobeynikova the heart breaker:cry:)

What about national lady thread popularity contest? This season the Russian one beat everyone by far and large. So far we are ahead of Japan but trailing the US....well, they have a 3 day handicap.

Hope we get to see Sima do well!! (either in juniors or seniors) but she is really interesting and I hope she has a great career.
Of all the juniors im looking forward to see more of Mukhortova (she is super expressive) and Lozko (nice lines and very cool spins), but they are all amazing and again russian nats are going to be a bloodbath, can't wait to see all these great athletes!
