Sena Miyake and Yuto Kishina are both 19 so they will be seniors.
Tatsuya Tsuboi could continue in juniors.

Pairs: I'd like to see Osokina / Rud but they might need more training time.
Men: Gleb Lutfullin (RUS), Aleksa Rakic (CAN), Brendan Wong (CAN), Shohei Law (CAN)
Ladies: Kaiya Ruiter (CAN)
Ice Dance: Tyutyunina / Shustitskiy (RUS)
Kaho Yamashita / Yuto Nagata (JPN)

Re. Team Japan Jr. FS -
It has been announced by JSF that they will not send skaters to the first 3 JGP competitions. The assignments for Japanese Jr skaters will start from JGP Russian (Sept 15-18)

Also, the selection of JGP representatives will be held between Jul 29~ Aug 1 (together with summer strengthening camp for Jr. skaters).

Does anybody have a prediction to when assignments will be posted? It seems to me that it will be very last minute and close to the first events dates..

maybe send the older juniors they would have sent last year to the first events??
I think they will want to take advantage of the Japanese women not attending the first three JGP's. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sophia A. in the very first France JGP, and Sofia S. in the second France JGP. Also wouldn't be surprised to see Sophia A paired with Frolova.

The first post said that the US junior spots would be in play last weekend. I was wondering if anyone knows the placements? I remember seeing clips with a couple of junior ladies with quads, will they be in?

keeping my fingers crossed for Popov to get a spot somehow, though unlikely, I know.

Japan decided not to send any pairs or ice dancers to JGP because "none has results from the previous season or looks internationally competitive". They won't even have a test skate. (They have a test skate for single skaters later this month.)

According to the announcement for the first two JGP events (FRA1 and 2), entries are due tomorrow, July 16th and July 23rd, respectively. That usually means the entries for each event will be posted online early the following week.

Do you have a source?

I kinda get avoiding international travel, but not even a test skate? How are they suppose to get any better with no competitions?

The selection criteria for the international competitions.

Riku and Ryuichi deserve to be Special Trainees (the highest category), but remain as National Trainees A, the category one rank lower.
Looks like JSF wants to reduce the budget for pairs and ice dance as much as possible.

What about Ayumi and Shingo then? The JFed doesn't see them as good enough for JGP? Or are they seniors now?
