Before the action gets under way in about 50 minutes from now, I want to warn you of something I just discovered.

The Time Schedule PDF's are not easy to open if you go to them through the Entries / Results Page. If you right click on the link and select to open the PDF in a new tab or a new window, all you get is a 404 error.

But, if you just left click to get the PDF to open in the current tab, it opens with no bother.

To get the PDF into a new tab / window, what you have to do is to left click the link to open the PDF in the current tab, and then highlight the address in the address bar and drag it to a different tab yourself. And this will work.

It's a very round about way of opening the PDF's. But, it gets them where you want them.

In light of this difficulty, I have been experimenting, and I think the PDF's will open normally if you click on the links in the reminder posts that I will be posting.

So, my advice is to click on the PDF links in this thread rather than clicking on the PDF links on the Entries / Results Page.

Hope this helps

Yipes! I just realised that we have 31 skaters due to skate before the first resurfacing!

I know these programmes are much shorter than the likes of the Juniors or Seniors, but that isn't fair on the later skaters. For example, all 18 girls in the next segment, Chicks I, will be skating on old chopped up ice. That's not right.

In light of this, I might have to abandon watching this event, and instead concentrate on Reykjavik. Because I have a lot of other things to do today that I was planning on doing during resurfacings.

On the plus side, we do have working live scoring here.

Awww. A wee Turkish girl was skating to "Tomorrow". Which brings back memories of the time I was in my school's production of "Annie".

And over 20 years later, I still remember the moves we did to the song in the Finale.

I would have done them, except that the editing used for this programme made the song so jumbled up.

Unfortuantely, she goes into last place. But, that's what 2 points in deductions does.

It's funny how you can know what somebody will be skating to as soon as you see what they are wearing.

I just saw a wee girl in a sky blue dress and her thick black hair braided. And I immediately thought "Aha! Aladdin music coming up!"

And sure enough, we soon heard "A Whole New World".

As a side note, I would never have guessed that that girl I was talking about earlier was skating to "Annie" music. She was wearing a bright yellow dress. But Little Orphan Annie wore a red dress.

Awww. We just had a wee girl skating to "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". And although her dress didn't say "The Lion King" to me, she had her nose painted like a cat's nose, and whiskers painted on her cheeks!

It was so cute!

Whoa, that was a quick turnaround! I thought I would have time to prepare this in between segments, but we just went straight from the last skater of Chicks II into the Group 1 Warm-Up for Chicks I. :drama:

Oops. Skater #8 has withdrawn. And then they started playing her music for skater #9. :drama:

The wee girl was in position, and then when the wrong music started, she looked around with a look of utter confusion. Then the music stopped, and she got back into position. But, somebody must have called over to her to go to the panel, so she came out of position, and started to go over to the boards. But, when she was on the way, her own music started! She was out of camera shot by this stage, and next thing you saw was her hurrying back into position!

Thankfully, they stopped the music and let her get properly composed again.

She went into last position, with 1.5 points of deductions. I really hope none of them was for the delayed start, because it was not her fault.

We just had a girl skating to "Killer Queen". OK, so I know I'm biased with being a massive Queen fan, but it really worked. It is a song that I would love to see skated to more often.

The girl was wearing a mostly plain black costume with a flimsy green overskirt. But, on her back was a big record player design made of silver sequins. It was so impressive looking!

The disappointing / scary part was the realisation that she is so young that she probably doesn't even know what a record player is.

Just noticed the surname of this last skater to go - Boyadjieva.

And I just did a search for "Boyadjieva", and the results were lots of Bulgarian people.

So, does Chris Boyadji have Bulgarian heritage?! 😲

Unfortunately, this girl is the new occupant of last position. 2 points in deductions was costly.

I take it that Ledeni Iskri is the club that is based at this rink. Because Maria ILIEVA and Alexandra KLYANEVA both seem to have a LOT of support from the audience!

Everything about Maria's programme was beautiful. The music, the dress, and the skating. The audience were cheering every element, and justifiably so. She goes into a massive lead over the two skaters that went before her.

Unfortunately, Alexandra had a challenging skate. But, she got a lot of cheers before and after her skate. She still managed to go into 2nd, but is 11.55 points down on her team-mate.

They are actually the only skaters from this club competing in the Intermediate Novice competition.

EDIT: Maybe I was too quick to assume that Ledeni Iskri is the local club. Because the two skaters that followed them are getting a lot of support too. And they aren't even Bulgarian!

I think I have just discovered why we weren't able to get any of the heavy-duty tin foil for our Christmas dinner. Milena MILOJEVIC's family bought it all up so that she could wear it while skating!

Seriously, I enjoyed her programme. I was kinda disappointed that she only went into penultimate place. Yes, she had a fall, but I thought it was better than that.

So, at the end of Group 1, we have Turkish skaters topping and tailing the table. Defne ULUTAS is leading by a slender 0.87 points from Bulgaria's Maria ILIEVA, with Alexandra KLYANEVA still next along in 3rd.

The third Turkish girl in this competition, Yagmur BILVEREN, just skated. And I got a couple of surprises.

First of all, her costume. A mostly black jumpsuit, with what looked like silver track marks running over it.

Secondly, she was wearing glasses.

Sure, I've seen quite a few skaters wearing glasses as props during exhibition programmes. But I can't remember seeing somebody wearing glasses while doing a programme in competition before. And as somebody who wears glasses all the time himself, I think it would have stuck in my mind.

Unfortunately, she has taken over last position from her Boğaziçi club team-mate, Eysan YAZICI.

You know what I was saying this morning about being able to work out what people would be skating to from their costume. Well, I would never have worked out that Ivayla MESECHKOVA (BUL) would be skating to music from "Pirates Of The Caribbean"!

What a strange dress! It actually reminded me a bit of the jumpsuit that Yagmur BILVEREN wore in her FS about 15 minutes earlier. It was mainly black, but had these large vertical white sections. And one arm had a white sleeve over it, while the other arm had no sleeve.

Ironically, she slots in just under 2 points ahead of BILVEREN.

MESECHKOVA has gone into penultiamte position, splitting the two girls from the Boğaziçi club.
