The 2024 Black Sea Ice Cup will take place Apr 6-7, 2024, in Kranevo, Bulgaria. The event will feature the Singles (Women and Men) discipline in the Junior and Senior categories and will be conducted in accordance with the 2022 ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules for Single & Pair Skating and relevant ISU Communications.

So do I. But, if there is streaming, it's hard to tell where it will be based on other events in Bulgaria this season.

The Sofia Trophy was streamed on SolidSport. I just had a look at the calendar on SolidSport, and although they have lots of streams listed for next weekend, they don't have anything for this event at the moment. Here is the link to the calendar:

The Denkova-Staviski Cup was streamed on the Bulgarian Fed's YouTube channel. And they don't have any upcoming streams listed at the moment either. But, YouTube streams usually appear closer to the start of the event than SolidSport streams. Here is the link, so that we can keep an eye on it:

Day 1 of the Black Sea Ice Cup consists of a Chicks quadruple-bill; followed by a Cubs triple-bill; followed by whatever Mlad figurist is. And we start with a group of 3 Chicks boys.

But I'm sticking with the Cup Of Israel Final, because I have a couple of kids competing there and, unlike here, we have no idea what time each competition is starting at.

We stay with the Chicks, but move from the boys to a competition where I am not sure about what it is. It is colour-coded for boys, but three of the entries are clearly girls' names; one entry is clearly a boy's name; and I haven't come across the remaining name before, so I am not sure about whether it is a girl's name or boy's name. Anyway, it is a group of 5 skaters.

EDIT: Four girls and one boy came out onto the ice.​

This is simpler. We stay with the Chicks, but now start a double-bill of girls. 19 younger girls; followed by 11 older girls. The 19 younger girls are arranged into two groups of 6; followed by a resurfacing; followed by a group of 7.

My goodness, this audio is awful.

I know I didn't like the way they were taking the music directly from the CD player in Holon earlier, but the music here is being drowned out by the background noise.

They seriously need to re-position the microphones. Because they must be picking up noise from outside the arena too. Put it like this: if it is like this in the arena, I'm sure the audience would be looking refunds on their tickets (assuming that it was not free entry).

Skater #5, the first of the two Armenian skaters in this competition, is breaking the rules. She's doing a "La La Land" programme and not wearing a yellow dress!

That said, the dress she is wearing is a beautiful colour of blue. So, I might let her off.

Yeah, I will. Because she is the only skater so far to go clean.

She goes into a substantial lead.

Skater #6 did a "Phantom Of the Opera" programme. But it was a wailing version.



Now for the girl I always keep an eye out for. (It's her surname. I've adopted a skater with the male version of that surname).

As @elektra blue would say, "I'm smelling an olè! "

Olè indeed!

Even though she is only the second skater to go clean, Skater #7 goes into 6th out of 6. (Skater #2 was a withdrawal).

That said, the score is only a whisker under her absolute PB from Nationals in December. So, even though they are not showing us the skaters getting their results, I'm sure she'll be happy with the actual score!

I think that was a female version of "The Windmills Of Your Mind" that the first skater in Group 2 was skating to. I could barely more than hear it amongst the background noise.

Skater #9 is only the third skater to go clean. And she goes into 2nd position.

And that resurfacing marked the end of the Cubs triple-bill. We now end the opening day with this mysterious "Mlad figurist" competition. 16 girls, arranged into two groups of 8.

But, I left for food at the start of the resurfacing, so I'm going to pause the stream and play catch-up after eating.
