Oda works for TV Asahi as far as I know. TV Asahi is covering the Grand Prix series and World Team Trophy while Fuji TV is covering Nationals, 4CC and Worlds.

Please let there be lots of translations of what he says about other skaters! Now that he's retired I'd love to hear his opinions on everything!

If there are videos uploaded, I would love to volunteer as a translator.
Japanese broadcastings are getting better and better nowadays, I love Nobu, Akiko and Takeshi's detailed commentary and now Dai's joinning too. There's also J Sport, where more professional commentaries are given by the real technical specialists and judges.

Daisuke Takahashi will start working for Fuji TV as a commentator. He will work alongside Shizuka Arakawa as a guest analyst for the 2016 World Championships and will start doing live commentary and reports from next season on.

He will be the "hot" commentator!

I do think he will have great insights to impart judging by an account I remember reading of how he critiqued Keiji Tanaka's presentation and gave the latter pointers for improvement.

This is a LoL moment if ever there is one! I'm still processing the image of Shizuka skating with a doughnut in her mouth and now here comes
Nobunari skating with a fried egg on top of his head. I shudder to think (or tremble in anticipation ;)) of what those creative minds in Japanese advertising will think of next for another member of TJ to do.

The Olympics have been covered by NHK so far, or at least that's what happened with Vancouver and Sochi. The Japanese channels are known for their marketable commercials so using the 2014-2015 season as an example, here's the difference between them

TV Asahi's Grand Prix commercial
Fuji TV's Nationals commercial
Fuji TV's 4CC commercial
Fuji TV's Worlds commercial
TV Asahi's World Team Trophy commercial

Basically if you're hearing Nessun Dorma, it's TV Asahi. If you're hearing Bolero, it's Fuji TV.

Oh I'm excited! He's been so lowkey since retiring. Will he be the 3rd(?) commentator next to Shizuka or are they alternating events and working separately?

lol I hope the move on from the Operatic Bolero of Doom by Pyeongchang. I've been conditioned to have an anxiety attack every time it plays because the '14 Olympic season was just. so. stressful.

I think for Worlds, Shizuka will go to Boston and Dai will stay in Japan and get in touch with her as a guest analyst. Next season I expect him to do commentary for all men events broadcasted by Fuji.
