somebody else wrote that, I just pick it up. The Amercians did get some 3 places in the GPs besides SA.

I would imagine they will have to name the two that they will be used for scoring totals.

I thought participation in 3 events was only allowed in pairs, but since they cut the contingent down, maybe not anymore... but the points were accumulated from the two designated events, even for pairs. They didn't get to choose which points to count in.

But the American girls got lucky, they could've gotten Mao or Yu-na, but only got Miki, whom both Caroline and Kimmie have a chance of beating with clean programs including 3/3's.:

In all fairness, neither Mao or Yuna did great in their first GP event last year. I think Mao lost to Kimmie in Skate America and Kim came in 3rd at Skate Canada. The two started the GP season on a definite low last year. Miki, on the other hand, tends to do strong at the beginning of the GP season and then tapers off later. She had her best performance of the year at Skate America last year and then progressively did worse and worse on the GP circuit... The other two managed to do better..

Yeah, Miki was brilliant in SA. Then she looked a bit tired in France. Then she was sick in GPF, was injured in Japanese Nationals, and had boots problems in Worlds. I hope she can recover from these and healthy and strong in SA.

Mao had a late start last season, because she couldn't decide one of her programs. She also moved to the US, which would have been a lot of work, too. But she says that she wants to be perfect from the beginning of this coming season. Yet, possible concerns for her would be the two triple axels, which might bring inconsistencies or possibly meltdowns (I hope not).

Let's hope!

... Rumors have it that Caroline is getting her 3/3 clean in practices -- anyone got more reliable info on that? I think she has the potential to beat the last two world champions with solid programs containing 3/3's! How would that do as a senior debut for a 14-year-old?

As far as I know, she's been practicing 3F-3T and 3Lz-3T, but I don't know if she's got them consistent yet. She HAS, however, gotten some sequences under her belt like the 3L-3L and 3Lz-3T. I am really pulling for her at SA and CoC!! I wonder what music she is going to use?

The Skate Today article says she is not planning to put even the 3/3 sequences into her programs this year, because with no 3S, she would be repeating too many triples.

Actually, it says,

"She is definitely planning a triple salchow or a triple axel in next year's jump layout, in order to be able to include a triple-triple combination."

I'm assuming they will be attempted this season.
