Well, it's a real challenge to hold it down to 10, in a way it's fun to decide within that limitation.

My break-through choices: Ashley Cain / Timothy Leduc:yay:, Gabrielle Daleman, Mai Mihara
Honorable Mention: Isabella Tobias / Ilya Tkachenko
Tally: 1 Canada, 1 Israel, 1 Japan, 1 USA

I could name 10 Pairs teams alone

Ok, so since it's not all-time, and just this season, then it will go something like this:

PAIRS
Wenjing Sui/Cong Han (always!)
Ksenia Stolbova/Fedor Klimov (always!)
Anna Duskova/Martin Bidar

ICE DANCE
Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier
Kaitlyn Weaver/Andrew Poje
Anna Cappellini/Luca Lanotte

MEN
Michal Brezina (always!)
Han Yan (always!)

LADIES
Anna Pogorilaya (always!)
Mai Mihara

Normally a list wouldn't be complete without Julia Lipnitskaya, but I really dislike how this season went for her. Same with Vivian Le :sad21: The list is very incomplete of course, I love both Yuzu and Javi, but they're getting generally more love, so I chose the other guys. And Mika Kolyada's my favourite, but I prefered him last season, when he skated Nightmare before Christams :) Also Ilinykh/Zhiganshin, I love, but this season is just not good. Mai Mihara made the list because this season she is just shiny!! So this season favourites so far looks like that :) Last seaosn it would look different though. An Honorary Mention for Peng/Jin, their SP is simply awesome  Generally I tend to like headcases :hopelessness: Only Pairs are saving my soul.

Geography:
Russia - 2
China - 2
Czech Republic - 2
Canada - 2
Italy -1
Japan -1

Pairs is my favourite discipline so I will concentrate on pairs.

James/Cipres (they really have the wow factor when they manage to be clean.)
Sui/Han
Savchenko/Massot (programs very good this year, great expression.)
Tarasova/Morosov (suddely became consistent)
Peng/Jin (not only good elements, but I love even the transitions. Great expression.)

And from junior pairs
Duskova/Bidar (good breakout season)
Atakhanova/Spiridonov (there is something in their basic skating that I love)
Kvartalova/Sviatchenko (great progress this season)
Kudriavtseva/Simenenko (great progress considering they have been together just a few months)
Alexandrovskaya/Windsor (they have potential)
I am sorry that in juniors there is three out of five Russian teams, but to be fair, other countries don't have as strong junior pairs, so my choices were quite limited.

Yu/Jin is no more. It's either Yu/Zhang or Peng/Jin this season ;)

Btw. I'm huge Pairs fan too! And I think Duskova/Bidar could be considered senior now. They ditch Junior Worlds to concentrate on senior ones and getting qualification to Olympics. I guess that means JGPF was the last Junior event they did.

Ups, I meant Peng/Jin! I corrected it.

I didn't count Duskova/Bidar into seniors because I don't think this season they are quite there yet. They are outstanding juniors, but if I was looking at them as seniors, they would be just slighly above average pair. They started the season as juniors and I think they switched to seniors only because Europeans took place in Ostrava. I think we need to be realistic what we can expect from them at this stage. Next season my expectations will grow, but at this stage I prefer to see them as very, very good juniors who are making their first steps in the seniors, rather than as full seniors.

I get yout point :) They are also very young for a senior Pairs team, so looking juniorish is kind of given. For their age they are extremaly good team though :)

This was surprisingly difficult. I would give honorable mentions to Patrick Chan, Weaver/Poje, Ashley Wagner (I like her as a skater but not so much her programs this season), Stellato/Bartholomay and Alexander Petrov.

That's 5 Russian entries... I'm guessing you might have swapped an American man with a Russian man? ;)

I was just kidding with lord Samarin. He's still in juniors. I like Nathan Chen actually a lot this season but as I needed to write only 10 entries so I didn't mention him.

You may be in for a surprise from the Canadian juniors....they are still progressing strongly this season, with some big leaps in tech and program components since JGP season.

If you haven't caught the Barvarian Open Junior Pairs event and results, you might enjoy it...

Canadians Walsh/Michaud and Matte/Ferland took silver and gold respectively with big jumps in their SBs..to 155.2 and 151.85. Both teams are pushing up the tech and the quality.

Other Canadian junior paris to watch for next season:Justine Brasseur [niece of Isabelle, and possibly seeking a new partner...], and the Boys-Eddy siblings. They've been competing as juniors domestically for a couple of years, but Olivia won't meet the ISU age minimum until this fall.....look out for their 3Tw3 and lifts.
