He got a great score even though he was less than perfect...why the negativity?
No negativity at all. I edited my post to add a bit more. I think it explains my slight disappointment. He would have gone into first for now if he had done the combination well. And saying that he almost always does something like that is not negativity either - it's just true. For clarity's sake, I am Latvian and also his fan. I really want Vasiljevs to do as well as he possibly can. Still, I enjoyed his skate a lot.

Obviously Aliev is going to be first by a mile (or almost). Nothing unexpected - at least I did not expect him to make mistakes in his SP again after the Youth Olympic Games. A great skate too.

His TES decreased a little and he's first but only fraction of point above Samarin. FP is going to be really interesting.
