Zhenya is now the record holder for both SP and LP.
If she skates well in LP, I think they're gonna give her the TS world record.

Judges like to give WR at major events like GPF, Worlds, and the Olympics. If she's clean, she will be the new combined WR holder.

I knew she'd get the WR rather sooner than later but I DONT GET IT! How was that better than at SC? or TdF??? And why is her PCS always better than that of the others even when they skate clean as well (f.e. Katelyn)???

She's great, but what's always better about her than everyone else? Consistency shouldnt matter in the moment. I will never understand... :(

if Osmond can start laying down 7 triple longs she can challenge and beat Medvedeva honestly

I have to agree with this and seem like the judges are willing to back her up. I even think if Osmond or Pogo can catch Medvedeva on a bad day they can beat her.

Osmond is still building her reputation. She is rapidly closing the gap.

Your statement is EXACTLY what is wrong with the judging in this sport. IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE BASED ON REPUTATION IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE BASED ON WHAT THE EFFING SKATER PUTS OUT ON THE ICE THAT DAY.

Med deserves her lead. I'm not a huge fan of the programme but it's hard to find any flaws in the programme (apart from the skipping)

I guess it is hers to lose. Osmond done well for second but will have to skate well to hold off Pogo and Miyhara. I think Radionova is out of contention now.

Aw, well Yuna Kim held on to that record for a long while -- more than six years. That's a feat in itself considering both the increasing inflation of PCS and the rule changes that put SP scores higher.

Congrats Evgenia. Thought it was a really nice skate.
YuNa had one more technical element than Mao and Evgenia Rules favored Kim actually.

Why are so many people obsessed with WRs?

Skating is changing. You can't really compare what Mao did in 2014 or Yuna in 2010. Just leave it lol, your blood pressure will thank you.

Y'all are gonna be bursting blood vessels when Zagitova moves up with her backloading to the M A X lol.

Anyway, that was a really good SP competition.

From all the signs, it seems there is going to be no implosion with this girl. Not at least after Olympics. Very scary, this robot like precision.

I would use "robot like precision" to describe Satoko, but I don't think there's anything scary or robot like about Evgenia's skating.

And for those that wondered during the GP season, and I quote, "what the hell is going on with Osmond's PCS",...welcome back to reality! Some on here, have missed you.

Excellent event overall. No major mistakes from the ladies!!

I was hoping the judges would be more patient with the WR but they do love consistency. Congrats Medvedeva. RIP glorious Chopin.

I'm not salty with this as I don't consider Mao's 2014 SP her WR. Her WR is the one in Vancouver. That said I still find Medvedeva amateurish, the scores really do not surprise me anymore.

I do think Mao had the better SP and should have still held on to that wr. Medvedeva is a sweet girl and consistent, but when I watch her all I see is junior skating still. My 2 cents and now I'm gonna leave cause 80+ pages of arguing is about to happen, lol.
