Natalia Alexandrovna Zabiiako (Russian: Наталья Александровна Забияко) and Alexander Yuryevich Enbert (Russian: Александр Юрьевич Энберт) represent Russia. Zabiiako was born on 15 August 1994 in Tallinn, Estonia, while Enbert was born on 17 April 1989 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union (now Russia). They are the 2018 European bronze medalists, the GP Finland gold medalists, 2018 NHK gold medalists, 2019 Russian national silver medalists, and the 2019 World bronze medalists.

Zabijako competed for Estonia until 2014. While representing her home country, her partners were Sergei Muhhin, Sergei Kulbach, and Alexandr Zaboev. With Zaboev, she placed tenth at the 2014 European Championships. Although they qualified a spot for Estonia in the pairs' event at the 2014 Winter Olympics, they did not compete in Sochi because Zaboev's fast-track citizenship application was declined. In spring 2014 Zabijako moved to Moscow to work with Nina Mozer and try out with different skaters, intending to compete for Russia. In summer 2014 Zabijako teamed up with Yuri Larionov, Vera Bazarova's former partner, however the partnership ended in June 2015. In July 2015 she teamed up with Alexander Enbert and was finally released by Estonian Figure Skating Federation to represent Russia internationally. Zabijako and Enbert debuted internationally in October 2015 at the 2015 Mordovian Ornament, a Challenger Series (CS) event at which they won the silver medal.

Before teaming up with Natalia, Alexander skated with Viktoria Kazantseva, Ksenia Ozerova, Katarina Gerboldt and Vasilisa Davankova. Out of these four, his most successful partnership was with Katarina Gerboldt, with whom he placed fourth at the 2011 European Championships.

Natalia and Alexander were coached by Nina Mozer and Vladislav Zhovnirski.

At the end of the 2019-20 season, Alexander Enbert announced his retirement. The team never competed during the 2019-20 season because of Enbert's health issues.

Wow! Those two partnerships didn't last long! Just one season.

I take it that the 2 partnerships didn't gel as well as was hoped.

So, does anybody know what Yuri and Vasilisa are doing next season?

Hey, wouldn't it be funny if they ended up together... a season after their long-term partners (Vera Bazarova and Andrei Deputat) teamed up!

That would make an interesting sub-plot at next year's Nationals if they did!

Sorry to Natalja and Alexander for taking the attention away from them. I wish them all their best for their new partnership, and hope for their sakes that it works out better than their 2014/15 partnerships!

Yuri is injured, he's out for at least half a year if I'm not wrong.
Vasilisa is in NY, NJ, not sure where exactly

You aren't, at least that is what was told fsrussia.ru a while back.

Vasilisa is in NY, NJ, not sure where exactly

Don't know much about Vasilisa but a while back there were some rumors that she wasn't sure if she even wanted to continue her career but according to latest news she is looking for a new partner. She too had injuries last season.

- What are your plans with Alexander Enbert for the upcoming season?

- Last season, I was still in quarantine after the transition from Estonia - that is, could not speak at international competitions. And with the new season I can officially represent Russia at any event! However, I do not know yet what will be the first start. But we spend with Alexander active preparation - sharpen the technical elements, especially pay attention to the aesthetic beauty and breadth of skiing.

- With Alexander Enbert you ride the second month. How do you rate skatannost at the moment?

- Well, most of the basic elements of the pair we have already mastered - and we do support, and rotation. Engaged and jumping. For example, in the long program, we plan to perform two triple. Who do tweak, we are working on lead-in exercise.

Zabijako has confirmed that she is free to represent Russia. Hopefully they will be picked to skate at Rostelecom.

I am interested to see these two, so I'm glad they were given the assignment.

Me too, although I had very little doubt that they would not skate there. Anyway, I am really looking forward to seeing them at Rostelecom.

I wonder if they're gonna do triple axel throw this season. Moser said they landed it succesfully 'till Zabijako's injury. I expect them to improve drastically under Moser's coaching.

Natalja is a very beautiful women if I may say so. She however, does change her partners a lot. The men on her side are always at the hot seat so to speak  5 guys in the past 6 years, I believe that´s a new record?

I always felt that the conquest of paradise FS, was her / their best programs. It´s going to be interesting what she can do with Enbert and for how long :laugh2:

Yes to be honest I find her kind of unlikable just because she changes partners so often, and never has anything nice to say about them when she does- I wonder if she realizes that if you have a problem with everyone, the problem might actually be you?

BUT with that said I really liked these programs and think they seem like a solid pair, so I will just sit here and hope her days of partner swapping are over...

The only one she dissed was Zabojev. Considering to this day, she seems to hang out a lot with Larionov's girlfriend and was at Larionov's birthday party this summer, I'd say she has no problems with him.

It depends what you mean by dissed but she and her coach definitely did not say such nice things about Kulback either and claimed some things that if I remember correctly he later denied (namely that he unilateraly split from her but according to them that was 100% okay with them since she was a much better skater than him and deserved a better partner anyway), though this was 2011 or 2102 and I am too lazy to go look it up so I could be mistaken about the specifics.

I will admit to my knowledge she hasn't said anything bad about Larinov, though I do find their silence about the split a bit puzzling generally- does anyone know, has he retired?

Anyway as this is a fan thread I will again conclude by sincerely wishing her and Enbert well this season, and reiterating that I do like their programs.

His age and his long term injury with a possible forced retirement would have been enough reasons to split for a lot of skaters. Spliting up was no-brainer.

Yes I guess this is what I am asking- what is his injury? I hadn't heard anything about this. Thanks for any info and sorry to take the thread off topic.

Google translated.

Yuri Larionov, "The critical point we passed, pain is gone"

Russian figure skater Yuri Larionov spoke about his recovery from a groin injury.

"The injury is treatable, there is progress in recovery. But on further plans until just can not say. Of course, I still hold the athlete's career. It seems to be an interesting and training activities, but here I was, as they say, do not let go.

Doctors make shots, but otherwise I am guided by my feelings - is easier or not. We passed the critical point, pain is gone, some elements I can easily do. Only here with regard to movements of large amplitude, the pain is still not completely gone.

This applies to rotations and big jumps Makhov. That is, in the movements of ice, I still limited - bounce can, but not all jumps. If the toe jump, the injury is not so sharply reacts not as sensitive, but I just axel through the pain of doing, "- said Larionov.

Recall that last season Larionov played in a pair with Natalia Zabiyako.

Nina Moser: "Next week we will discuss with Larionov future prospects"

Coach Nina Moser said that skater Yuri Larionov's future is in question.

"Larionov was on our team he is currently working with a coach of juniors. He likes it. He is undergoing treatment, he is now over, next week we will discuss with him the future prospects, "- said Moser.

Recall that last season Larionov played in a pair with Natalia Zabiyako.
